And how do you discover new games that interest you and do not interest you?

I browse a store for anything that pops out at me and I'll watch the trailer and look at the screenshots. If I make it that far I might do a Youtube search for "No Commentary Gameplay" so I can watch how the game looks and sounds without someone sperging over the top of it. Then if I think it looks well made and enjoyable I'll buy it.

I don't need some sperg who calls himself "WorthABuy" to suggest games to me. Especially when he shovels such massive shit all the time.

Yeah thats a PITA and not feasible for most games. I need some
kind of opinions at the very least. Its very difficult to gauge games purely on visuals.

You can get opinions on games from plenty of sources. The problem is most opinions you find are not derived from informed opinions, but from popular opinion.

I'll let you in on where my animosity for WorthABuy comes from. I was having a PM conversation with a friend of mine who was thinking about trying Baldur's Gate 3 because he was wondering what all the buzz was about. I told him the game was complete shit, didn't live up to the originals, is a copy-paste of Original Sin 2, etc (btw, this guy played Original Sin 2 and personally he did not like it).

In response to my criticisms he sent me a link to WorthABuy's review and said to me something along the lines of "How do you explain this??" As if I needed to answer for having a different opinion than what had become mainstream.

Having grown up playing Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, having played all the Divinity games, having followed BG3's development and then finally trying it out myself. None of this seemed to fucking matter to him because he heard a Youtube reviewer say the game is good. His mind was set.

Sooner or later they will have to face the fact that simply ignoring that shit will not make it go away or prevent future games from being DEI slop.
