Hm, interesting. Not that keen on the vivid colors, but turn based combat with grids is always fap-fap-fap-worthy. Checked some trailer but didn't get the geist of the game. Is it like HoMM or FF Tactics? Or something next gen with the byword original?

though another thing I dislike - the battle messages are too banal and boring. like "gunners use rapid fire. damage 166. 2 archimages die."
Stop whining, everyone already understood that you are TrueЪ Codexer.
You are trying too hard.

you failed.

but as I take it the player will have to read those messages a lot in the game, because they are the only source of the information about battle, right? I'd wish they were done in a more creative way than just a dry statistics. Fallout and Dwarf Fortress come to mind as a first examples. though that's not critical of course. still I will wait for more reviews.
right now the only thing except TB and hex field that makes me want to play this game is its developers. most of them made Space Rangers after all.

It's King's Bounty with side quests and more sophisticated character development system.

After just a couple of battles, those "creative" battle descriptions kind of get old, even in Fallout. At the end of the day, what you REALLY want in combat is concise and clear battle messages that do not distract you from the gameplay.

I can not tell from the screenshots, but do the graphics feel "HOMM V"-ish? They do seem a little bit like that.

That's be sad, since that style I can absolutely not stomach; not in 3D.

Mmmh, on one hand this game looks like a meh clone of homm, on the other hand stuff like being able to have children and only having one hero and his army sounds cool. Dunno, I'll await some reviews first and a good no dvd to get rid of that fucking copy protection thingy. It caused my legally bought space rangers copy to act wierd.

You can't tell from the screenshots? The game has a hardcore World of Warcraft art style.

I indeed couldn't. My eyes aren't very good.

I loathe the HOMM V/WoW/Warcraft III style, and no matter how good the game might be, this style will prevent me from playing it. It just gives me too much of a headache. At best I can set my monitor to monochrome.

Probably because of the style. Also Kings Bounty was fun, but extremely limited compared to later games like homm. Dunno, all the quests, the family and all seems a bit more expansive. Therefore I just feel it has more in common with Homm that for me offered a lot more in gameplay terms.

I dunno, I always wanted a HoMM focused on a single hero with more RPG elements like dialog and quests. Never played the original King's bounty, but will definitely be trying this one out.

That sounds more like a positive resemblence than "meh clone"?

Jezus Christ, you keep debating fucking semantics? I don't know if it will be nice. We'll see. It might be some retards idea of homm/kings bounty/defender/pong of it might turn out to be the the second coming of christ. We finished?

Game is looking pretty good, i have just finished tutorial. It's beatiful (despite somewhat questionable warcraftish style ) and well animated. Dialogues with characters are entertaining so far. Can't say anything about combat unless i get further in the game.

The only slight downside is that music, while good, is not on the level of Space Rangers 2.
