the game is very undemanding
Right, now that paying beta-tes... uhm russian gamers tested it.
In Soviet Russia consumers do a QA
Well, while we surely did betatesting regarding balance (however, even perfectionist Blizzard is not immune to that), the game run pretty flawlessly otherwise from version 1.0.
At least I don't remember any performance problems whatsoever.

Because I've seen it myself?
speaking of vcards, it also managed to rape r9600pro, so it isn't just a driver issue.
Come on, KB is a nice game for sure, but it was a bad idea to say bye-bye to their lead-SR1&2-programmer and switch him for god-knows-whom

Well, 9600Pro is fucking OLD card. When I was talking about Voodoo, I was not utterly serious, you know :P.
However, it ran perfectly on a Radeon 2400, which I had at my work - and it is by no means a powerful gaming card - and it was unpatched version.
Didn't had a chance to play a lot (cause it's, well, work) - but I didn't manage to locate any issues with memory leaks.
Perhaps because I had 1Gb of Ram at work, and 2Gb at home?

I played the first mission to kill the dragon, then I got the second mission to kill the... and I realized I just witnessed 70 percent of the gameplay. I stopped immediately.

And that is why ladies and gentlemen I ALWAYS nuke malta in Hearts of Iron 2 as the germans.

Oh well, so it probably won't work on my Radeon IGP340M. Damn.

"I've played Bloodlines on this crap" - he thought - "Maybe KB also has this r3dsky thingy"

But seriously, Balor, what do you mean by "undemanding"? On the developers site they recommend having a 3 ghz CPU and 256 VRAM, that's far from undemanding ;> Are the recommended specs inflated?

In Russian, of course.
The specific link you want is:
http://kingsbounty.ru/mods/1.6.4/mod_164_camera.zip

You should unzip it into your 'mods' directory.
Not sure how would it work on English demo version.

I unzipped this into the data directory (there isn't a mod directory - not in the demo anyway) and to my surprise it worked. Now I can zoom way out.

Oh and Skyway, is there anything you *do* like? You seem to be a whiner par extraordinaire.

That's recommended specs. It means that you can play it with all settings maxed out. However, if you've played bloodlines with acceptable performance, I bet you will be able to play KB too, if not being able to max out everything.
Or you can just d/l a demo and see for yourself.

And notice that skyway actually likes KB, only he STILL can find something to whine about.
Even it's the fact that devs removed copyprotection. Yea, he's THAT good.

The English demo does run on it, though. Slightly choppy, but it'd seem that has more to do with the amount of RAM, not the videocard. Still entirely playable.

Of course: whining.

Confirmed. Doesn't work with savegames though, requires a new game.

On a sidenote, I noticed there are only 5 army slots for the hero, and so far all enemies use only 5 armies as well. Does this ever change in the course of the game? Feels a bit limiting.

I don't think you can have more than 5 troops in battle. Enemies can use more than that, though. Just try entering the tournament.

Well, you can summon stuff during combat, and a mod 'Prisoner' allow one to have a 6th creature (automatically summonable) - beholder with upgradeable stats, skills and talents.

There's a feat/skill/whatever that allow you to put in one (max two) additional troops as "reserves". They don't come in to combat, but can be switched around with one of your 5 regular troops.
