Here lemme try, I had fun in Oblivion.
I'm not sure why I just like exploring the country side, hoping for random encounter that doesn't take me out of exploration aspect (ala clasic Final Fantasy screen fade go to TB combat interface) It's just part of the charm of having a big sandbox world ot explore. I enjoyed morrowind too for that reason alone.

The combat is shit, the magic is crap. The itemization gets looney too, but I still can't find a game that I can explore in medieval form with accessible mods and controls right off the bat. I enjoyed the alchemy, and some mods removed my main problem of level scaling npcs and loot.

You people will argue Gothic 1+2 has all that I want. I tried Gothic 2, 3 years after it's out. I can't get used to the camera. I felt motion sickness, and the wonky controls only add to the nausea. So I really can't give it a fair review or even muster effort to try it again.

Recently, Gothic 3 is out. As well as NWN 2, I really hoped G3 will have easier controls and more tolerable camera this time. As I loaded the intro...and finishes it, the game just stutter a lot. OK, so I thought my PC's crap. I lowered every detail setting, making everything look very ugly.I'm still getting poor performance and the combat has no feeling of impact as my sword came into contact with orcs. There's just a bit of blood here and there.

I cleared the first combat after coming close to dying and vomitting from the induced nausea of laggy performance....and tried to interact with some items on the table. Is there a reticule ? or am I just hallucinating ? I decided to just take a looooooong break till they patch or maybe if I get a new rig. It's not worth the torture. So I'm stuck with NWN 2 that has poor exploration and a crap load of power-munchkin stats with bad indoor camera and painful party AI. I'm truly fucked and decided to stop getting hyped anymore about RPGs.

So anyone give a fuck about
Weapon focus Longdick
Weapon focus Shortdick
Weapon focus Analrape
Weapon focus Fingering

Should really buy NWN, I'd take my Blunt Axes anyday and enjoy exploring stuff for the first time (Ob's replayability is lacking LOL) while brewing potions from those flowers i picked instead of buying from stores and then painfully right clicking on books to learn recipes. GET A REAL INTERFACE FOR CRAFTING OMFG OBSIDIAN!

/rant I'm really sad right now, I'm off to watch the new 007.

:x Why. Why . Why

I'm curious. Which part of this thread would make someone think "Oh, I know, I'll ask for a FATE code in here".

Please describe, in detail, what makes it such a good game for you... 'cos I wasn't able to find the good bit.
I like Oblivion because of its big world, with a lot of interesting places and freedom for the player. Of course, it would have been better without the "levelling system" and if the marauders hadn't daedric armor. Oh, and Cyrodiil is everywhere the same compared to G3's game world, as I said already. I don't like Bethesda and I don't kiss Oblivion's box every evening, but I like that game.

Then you'll like Notepad. I think Notepad 5 is already out, and you don't need to play Notepad 1-4 to enjoy the last one.

I know that this is the Codex and Oblivion is EVIL, but even if I hate Bethesda, I like the game.

btw, I tried Notepad 5. Great game. The storyline is quite boring, but you can really do everything you want. And it runs smoothly even on my older pc...

And Notepad is easy to mod, too!
