Combat is carried out in a way that escapes comparison with any other game. Even though you're running around swinging the lightsaber in a way that looks arcadey, it's not really an action system ? it's based instead on the classic D&D 20-sided dice. Weapons are only drawn when threats are present, so you can't go around hacking anybody and everybody. Also, the two characters following will only kick off with whatever action you've set them (like 'use blaster' or a certain Force skill). When you need a more complex attack sequence (a combination of actions), you can simply select that character and select the sequence for them. It's a unique system and we'll let you know whether or not it works in an upcoming review.

Combat lacks comparason to any other game, except just about every real time with pause CRPG that's been made using BioWare assets?

Yeah, that's kind of odd if it's true. Kind of makes you wonder how "dark side" you can be if you can only harm things that want to harm you.

Simple, you ask for credits every time you do a quest. I hear that's what most mega-villains do.

Oh, and apparently, you politely ask some of the innocents you can't actually attack to give you money.

What sounds truly amazing is the mugging feature; if you're walking the bad path, you can mug someone for their dosh.

God, Bioware are fucking pathetic. Can't they die already?

I hear that whoever ventures deep enough into the dumb side will be able to
play Fallout Enforcer from a terminal inside KOTOR .

Mugging wouldn't be so bad in a typical RPG, but it doesn't make much sense for an inspiring Sithlord to do something so... common. Use your force powers to extort riches from a wealthy baron, sure.. But mugging?

That would let you buy the +5 vorpal lightsaber and +5 heavy robes of etherealness before Chapter 4, though.

Or you could opt fo the custom lightsaber handle.

Weapons are only drawn when threats are present, so you can't go around hacking anybody and everybody.

But can you define who is a threat? It sounds like LucasArts are imposing their moralism on us again, or perhaps the AI/engine isn't robust enough to compensate for killing plot characters.

"When I jump into the air, perform a sommersault, and strike down on my foe with a lightsaber, i want him to look like a http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Museum/4686/hirsthome.htmlDamien Hirst Sculpture dammit!!!"

You'll probably find those in Act 2, in a tomb filled with undead Jedi located in a sewer of the biggest city on Tattooine.

A threat is anyone that doesn't buy Star Wars merchandise!
