"I have my orders sir, please be nice to me."
Another day, another russian RPG to play. From Akella, no less.
First thing first - it's a sequel to the book. There are some characters from the book, some mentioned and some met in person. And it's the same planet, more like a zoo if you ask me.
At least there is no sequel hook or cliffhanger, man I hate that shit while playing old videogames.
Camera is bad. You can't see much ahead, then if you zoom out it will change the vertical ange so you won't see more.
Bollocks.
Technically game is meh - no crashes (only error message every time you quit the game), alt+tab with no problems.
But only 4:3 resolution (iirc 1400x1050 is max, you can put more but it will results in streched picture), no way to play windowed.
Limited graphic options but you can turn off Bloom, which is good in my book.
Mashing LMB in combat is bad idea, you do some chain combo and last hit is p. slow, leaving you open to attacks.
Blocks cancel normal attacks animation, even when they land on enemies. That's right.
That mean the best way to fight is to click LMB once and instantly block (Space), this way you can attack way faster
compared to LMB spam.
There are technically no chapters in the game but some important moments makes enemies respawn, at least bandits.
Now we meet Bandit's LVL2 and LVL3 instead of LVL1. Still shit XP for them (17xp instead of 9xp) and bit better loot
(worth 200g and not 70g).
Big whoop.
And more potions shows up in the shops but why you need them when you can LMB+Space spam through the whole game?
Disguise system sounds cool but you need to find some chest to keep some stuff there - spare clothes or stuff before you gain more levels. You will run out of inventory space often if you keep this stuff with you all the time.
Most important are cloacks. They always give 0.0 defence so you don't need to sacrifice protection completely
and keep that breast plate on yourself.
You need aproximetly ~6 parts to change affiliation - head gear (hats, helmets, cap),
light armor (jerkin), heavy armor (plate, curisass), cloaks, shoes and pants. I feel like cloacks give more % change?
Most common factions in the first half of the game are FRA and Thieves.
Somewhere halfway we get Don's set and keep that way for the rest of the game.
Late 3/4 part of the game Monks shows up, much like in the book in the same time, you gonna love them.
And then you got Girza one, but couldn't complete the set, they play no major role in the game, or any role for that matter.
Check this out - I met some shady fella in dark alley under Thief's disguise, there was no option to avoid combat and to my surprise - some bandits helped me in the battle.
