Could you explain how the personalities work a little more? Is there dialogue between PCs and NPCs, and is that dependent on the personality? Is the game mostly combat? Is there C&C? I have no experience with this game whatsoever.

The personality basically boils down to in-game character voices and flavour banter. Characters comment on pretty much all stuff: finishing some quests, when engaging in combat (few different ones for various levels of challenge the encounter will pose), when finishing combat, when suffering from a negative condition, when someone dies, when they score a particularly good kill, etc. Depending on the personality, they get different lines. It's all flavour dialogue, but it manages to flesh out the characters spectacularly.

And it should be noted that the game is designed to allow the player a lot of freedom in interactions with NPCs.

You can kill any and all NPCs in this game, if you like. And none of the factions are necessary to complete the game, they are all optional. Last but not least, because of the dialogue system, you can ask NPCs whatever you like, and sometimes you get surprising answers for silly questions.

There are also carry-over C&C from Wiz 6-7, but the game is mostly an unashamed dungeon crawler.

Wizardry always looked fun but the idea of first person tactical party combat with turns always weirded the hell out of me.

I don't remember a level 5 Mook RPC there, I assume that's the mod? Or is there some of that type of randomness to original Wiz8? Been a while...

It's definitely the mod, Urq is normally in the Mook stronghold in Arnika. I was also quite surprised to see that much loot in the first chest.
Gregor is btw a reference to Kafka and his metamorphosis.

@ hoverdog: Great LP so far, but we need moar updates :D

The second level of monastery has much more changes then the lower.

I've run into some problems with editing saves (yes, there has been another death), all is well now, but I still have to use two editors and a resurrection powder everytime someone dies. Strange, there was no problem with Ulminati's conjuring.
