Quite interesting. Apparently it was Matt Finley from Interplay/inexile himself who personally convinced them to start developing games.
It's also quite funny when he talk about how they first started making The Witcher simply as big RPG and Witcher fans who were full of ambitions but had no fucking clue about how does the game development process really works.
Apparently they still keep early design documents which describe "the best game evah" they were sure to bring into the market in less than a year. There was a lot of butthurt in the studio when they hit, well, some obstacles in their adventure and they had to strip the game off most of content as some of its creators really fell in love in what they'd made and did not want to let it go.
also how the big publishers hate the gamers and are in the constant fight to destroy videogaming and nice things
It's really quite a miracle on Vistula river they did not go bankrupt somewhere along the way.
