Yeah, that guy's an asshat. Ah well, not like this is really a tremendous loss for you.

EDIT: You know, I don't think I posted this earlier, but this was a really great review. Completely fair and well supported. It made me want to immediately play again as an evil character, something I'm still looking forward to. If only I had been able to get past your frequent fucking use of the f-word . . .

The Codex actually like something!!! [Eek!]

When I saw the word "charming" I thought chev was being sarcastic, and I expected them to completely annihilate the game.
It's interesting how much people managed to misunderstand what the Codex is all about. They see valid criticism as blind hate of all post-Fallout games. They firmly believe that we hate anything that's not 2D and isometric, ignore praises to games like Daggerfall, the Gothic series, Bloodlines, etc. Oh well...

Anyway, back to that NWN2 thread, can someone reply to that idiot?

Bethesda didn't like my Oblivion review. Everything was fine before that and Bethesda developers posted almost every day on our forums, but once the review was posted, the Codex was immediately blacklisted and censored (you can't even type the name of the site).
Never mind that the members used the codex forum as a place to organize trolling, swear like court marshalled sailors, post tubgirl pics and link to scans and piracy. None of that could be a cause for not allowing links to their little haven, it had to be that review.

Don't flatter yourself.

I don't recall any organized trolling or tubgirls pictures posted openly. Piracy discussions were never tolerated, even when Saint was around. Not to mention kathode and msfd posted here regularly for more than a year, being well aware of what the Codex is and isn't.

More MotB design flaws uncovered!

http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/vi ... &forum=121

I would submit to you that it is in fact easy to miss companions.

Okku, One-of-Many, and Kaeylyn can all be killed before finding out they are recruitable. You don't even get a hint. A design mistake, in my opinion.

One-of-Many in particular requires that you navigate a complicated dialogue tree before you get the option to recruit him.

So really the only well-designed recruitments are Safiya and Gann. Safiya is forced on you and Gann is made obvious by dialogue.

That's just hillarius!

I should play Call of Duty and go and complain in the official forums that it's hard for me to hit enemies and that the game should reward me with a headshot any time I just pointed my gun to the general direction of an enemy and shot.

it sucked indeed, i hope the next expansion has something like a "companion compass" where a blip on the minimap shows you potential companions in the area you are in.

Kaelyn can be killed? How?

As far as I know, you are limited to "non hostile interaction" with Kaelyn, meaning you cant harm her, as with other NPCs in the game.

MotB is great. I've just spent a lot of time just talking to the party members. The dialogues are extremely well written. When I first saw Okku, the rainbow-colored teddy bear, I wasn't impressed. But the writers managed to make EVERY line of dialogue cool. Can't wait to see how of Kaelyn's quest to destroy the Wall will end. Such a great idea. It feels like the developers actually have a story to tell. The setting isn't just a backdrop or an excuse to tell a story, as the story draws on the setting and its inner workings.

I don't even know yet if there will be a big Foozle waiting for me in the end.

The story is epic but not stupid epic. My character is trying to figure out what is happening to him and how it's all related to the red wizards, the witches, the spirits, the gods and the BALANCE OF THE UNIVERSE ITSELF (tm).

I hope the author of this tale will be given a chance to write the story of some other Obsidian game.

Yep, it's a great game. If you see something interesting, something that happened because you did something in the past a certain way, take a screenshot. I'm talking about a contest with Obsidian and looks like they are ok with what I suggested.

Goddamnit, MotB'll be released here only in December... Anyway, it won't be the first time I'm late for a contest ;-)

LOL
I know the wall will remain quite intact, I just want to know how the events lead to the end and what is revealed then.

Also, I like fantasy stories that deal with afterlife and how the inhabitants of the world cope with the idea of dying. Planescape: Torment and the book series The Prince of Nothing are examples of the kind of stories that handle it really well.

Exactly. Knowing that the Wall will remain only improves the story. Otherwise you'd *know* that your little gang will safely reach the wall and knock it down, succeeding where thousands have failed, which would have been very one-dimensional and predictable.

It'd be nice if you actually had the option to try to destroy the wall, even if that failed misserably. Doomed crusades tend to lose their charm and their dramatic edge if the hero actually realises that her crusade is doomed and stops half-way through.

Confusing isn't it? Maybe you should introduce a review system where 8 out of 10 is an average game to help reassure people who don't read too well.

I got pnwed, apparently. :(

A mysterious PM from a German dude:

"Pwned, man.

It was a pleasure.

Have a nice life."

I guess that was the guy who reported me on the Obsidian forums. I can't fucking believe that he would actually register here to tell me that I'm "pwned". Wow!

I'm tempted to ask Obsidian to unban me, but that would be too petty.
