<KokiH> chainsaw on a gun is pretty extreme yes
<KokiH> I hope it will be a feature in ME3
<Riso> ME2 has tighter gameplay and its presentation is much better
<KokiH> Would bring collargrabbing to entirely new level
<mik> perhaps some kind of extending metal claw on the gun
<mik> that grabs the collar and brings it to poin tblank of the gun's barrel?

But isn't roleplaying about CHOICES rather than stats and inventory and shit? ME2 must be a best RPG evah! :smug:

I think that C&C makes stats so very important in RPGs, because then the C&C starts at the very start of the game, when you create your character.
You can have C&C in a FPS, but that doesn't make it a RPG.

It is the combination of stats (not includeing the pseudostats of Fallout 3) and C&C that are required for a game to be even considered a RPG. Then add all the usual stuff and you have an RPG!

I thought it was about combat and shit - ME2 must be the best RPG ever!

Anyone who does not understand that c&c is only important for an RPG when tied to stats, is as clueless as those who misunderstand combat in the same way. Stats are the key. Whether they are given expression through combat or other means, is immaterial - but an RPG that utilises them more broadly, not limiting to a specific domain, is the stronger for it.

Yep. Health, walk speed, run speed, strafe speed, crouch speed, jump speed, jump distance, jump height, hitbox height, hitbox width, range of sight, range of hearing, accuracy and so on.

Have you been havin' this discussion since the site launched? In that case, I can forgive some of the old coots for serious psychological problems.

Insert clever insult here
Remove the fucking annoying mini-games - bypassing, hacking and planet scanning. Mineral gathering was a tedious chore in Star Control 2 and it's still just as stupid time-sink in ME2.

Is it possible to combine the two, i.e., the weapons loadout system in ME1 but with a default option? Same thing for mini-games, i.e., manual hacks but with the option to use omni-gel or an auto option?

I haven't played either Fail Effects but if 3 would have rape, I'd consider it.
