Well, I was thinking of Gothic 2's meeting with past characters, which made the consistency with what happened before important - and only because you had some relationships with those characters - they were a part of your quests in a way that Morrowind NPCs never really were.

I guess what I was trying to say was that I'd only really notice a change in events for a sequel if I was playing the same character, and then only if that character had some real interactions with others. Otherwise, why would you feel terribly put out by any (sensible) change in what happened? You're playing a totally new character, you never had any relationships with anyone in the past. Sure, hearing of events that are different to what you did is a little jarring, but why would you really care about it?

But you're right, it's not especially relevant, more a side issue.
I think they should warn us mainly because otherwise til.gamingsource.net wouldn't know what to write on their history pages.

Any can install a few mods that gives 1000 level dungeons. Qwert's, Xerau's or Blockhead's dungeons are a must.
I already said that on Bethesda foruns and i repeat.
Morrowind, straight of the box, is good game for a while but with mods it becomes the best ever!

Why do they "need" to create that sort of shit anyway? The developers make a decision - that X happened - and write from that point. You don't need to encode that sort of dialogue. remember: this is a whole new game with no connection to any previous games. So, regardless of the outcome of MW, Oblivion can start from any point vis-a-vis the number of provinces the developers want.

Essentially what it does is remove the artificial and jarring "YOU HAVE LEVELLED UP! CHOOSE WHICH STAT GETS TEH BOOST!" sequence from the game, essentially making the gameplay level-less. Your stats go up in accordance with which skills you are becoming increasingly proficient with. So you will no longer be able to become, say, more Intelligent by swinging a sword around. If you spend a lot of time on your magic skills, your Intelligence and Willpower (and Personality, if you're a big Illusionist) will increase quite quickly, while your limited work on your combat skills will mean your Strength and Endurance will increase much, much more slowly. It still records your approximate level for the purposes of level-specific quests, etc, but the number really doesn't mean anything anymore. It has other effects too, but I believe this was the main objective.

Basically, GCD makes the entire process more sensible and natural and less contrived, and much better, IMO. Hopefully something similar will be created for Oblivion, so I don't have to deal with whatever cobbled together, jarring levelling system Beth has used for it for very long.
