I've seen a fair few of them back off and try to keep a good distance, but only in small number fights. Mass battles end up with everyone mashed in pretty close.
Cause it's realistic, duh!
You cannot do any retarded ninja-stuff like in "300" in real combat.

That was my point.

Though one time I did get me and two spearmen skewering a guy simultaneously, which really made me want to yell SPARTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Unfortunately, there is no SPARTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA button.

Well, that's obviously the beauty of the game.
There can be one if you want it enough.

Oh, and .901 has been releeeeaaaased.

We have tried to fix the known bugs with 0.900 (Mostly quest bugs, and also the sluggish path-finding on the map), so this version should hopefully be more stable and fun to play.

I won't do news on it, but you definitely want to grab it if you are playing .900 now.
Otherwise, I would be surprised if we would not at least go to .904.

Oh fuck me backwards with a spoon, not again. I suppose that's the price you pay but really...

It's inevitable any time they modify the file listing the troop types.

Aye, that pisses me off too. Every time I manage to get to decent levels with my char and my party I have to restart the game.

Hey, you know you can export your character and import it back in the new game? Go to the Character screen then Statistics, you just have to give the new character the exact same name.

Getting back equipment and troops are more problematic, but you can edit the character export file to give yourself some gold and try to buy them back.

I tryed that in one of the older versions, but my game got kinda fucked because of that so I had to reinstall it. After that I always start from the begining.

I noticed it had been released, I have installed it already, actually.

A char import messing up the game is strange. Never has happened to me, but then, until recently I always installed the full version of new releases rather than updating, so possibly that's a problem?

0.950 was released yesterday. It has several bugs and some slow-downs. First patch usually comes within a week whough.

What's new in this version can be found here:
http://forums.taleworlds.net/index.php/topic,35655.0.html

EDIT: Oh yeah, and reportedly it works with WINE in Linux. Something 0.90x didn't do. And the loading times have improved vastly. It took me ~5mins to load a game. Now it's about 15secs.
