Or, the optional title for this news post, if you prefer, BRING OUT YOUR DORKS.

Anyway, since we got a request to post something about this from a new user, and since I was forced to verify that BioWare was, in fact, still doing their Neverwinter Wednesday stuff, I submit to you guys this Community Roundtable Part 1 thing, people who liked Neverwinter Nights and still like it:

LadyRolePlay: Companionship. Players have a "finite" amount of time though when playing, hence one tends to gravitate to a core group one knows and whose style they like. The NWC site accomplished what it set out to do: help folks find groups to play with. At the same time, the community is generous and giving, which facilitates a mutual gain and fulfillment both in character and out of character that one and all enjoy. A social club if you will, that all are welcome to join in and contribute to.

7:52:48 AM NAN: I don't know. It would be odd for a girl to actually call themselves LadyRolePlay
7:52:51 AM NAN: but then
7:53:24 AM NAN: there are girls running sites like http://www.grrlgamer.com/
7:53:37 AM Saint_Proverbius: LadyBigMacValueMealSuperSized is too long for NWN's name buffer.

Also why does a girl game site have to look all pink and gay? I'm sure some girl gamers have some dignity as well as an interest in games.

No. In this aspect, they have a lot in common with male gamers. :D

Why is the NWN community so persistent?

One thing that bugs me is that I don't feel being persistent (whatever meaning it may have in this case) is exclusive to NWN's fanbase. I think any online-capable game can have a persistent, focused fanbase. Same goes for what kind of community it may or may not be, I think its largely dependant of the people, not the game. In the end, I perceive this to be more like an attempt to come up with something else to praise NWN for, rather than looking at the real issue.

Let's sign LadyRolePlay up to some adult sites, anyone get her email address? She'll get more roleplaying and acknowledgement that she's female than she ever got out of NWN.

Or at least the sexually ambiguous, canadian, smiley face using subset.

Didn't you know? Ted's out of the closet now... or at least the gender ambigous one... eeeeh.
