I have something opposite of that, the last time I enjoyed a Faerun game was like 15 years ago. Nothing to explore anymore, everything is well known. Give me something new.

I find a lot of video games struggle with communicating stakes to the player. Designers seem to think that drowning you in information about the world and all the crap going on and every single character's complete life story equates to storytelling, when a lot of games would be better off zeroing in and just focusing on dialogue and action that moves the actual plot forward. Lots of regular writers would do well to do this, too. It's just modern writing bullshit, I guess.
