From what I recall, "red variants" were already introduced in the extended universe material of the setting. Granted, it's not "canon" in the sense that it's really in the same vibe as the original flicks, but Obsidian didn't just decide to pull the idea out of their asses.

True, even the FPS AvP2 had off-colored "runners".

But I thought they were watching the movies over and over to recapture the essence of the movies and using that as canon. At least that was what I was told over and over in a particular thread here.

Apparently, not all of them were on the same page.

(Apparently they didn't hear that there were going to be red variants, too! And for extra creativity, Obsidian might have even used BLUE or GREEN! LOLZ, the font of creativity never ends as long as you have more alternate colors!)

Wasn't the Alien 3 one red?

I honestly thought that was the lighting. It has been a few years since I've seen it, I will admit.

But on this topic.

This is too fucking cool.

More facial expression in one little fap.gif than the entirety of Fallout 3.

My .sig for punch line.

EDIT: OH! You meant the coffee machine. I was honestly mistaken there for a moment.

You're wrong, I remember them distinctly mentioning that they were looking at everything that had to do with Alien (comics, books, etc...)
