Personally I can never get enough of post-apoc. :D

As far as this game is concerned, I don't know, could be good, maybe in the league of stalker... We'll see.

The third person action-y feeling is not very promising though... :(

I just want to see more games troll the US by having you play as the Russkies or Afghanis mowing down legions of American mooks. Fuck, the Afghani/Pakistan border groups v US war basically write themselves into a HL2 or a FO3, with you on foot (or the occasionaly stolen tank) starting with your shitty family rifle before upgrading to AKs and finally either modern Russian, Israeli or US (through Saudi dealers) gear depending on which factions you go with. Make Al Queda a joinable faction:).

Not saying any of it would be justified irl - just that the outrage would be funny as hell after years of US game companies churning out games where you kill legions of Russians, Vietnamese, Arabs etc without a 2nd thought:).

Would be nice, I'm just not sure which would generate more delicious butthurt - that the freedom fighter you play as is a totally virtuous dude and the westerners are depicted as evil child molesters, or that you play as a totally obnoxious rapist and rout the righteous Americans who tried to whiteknight in the wrong country.

It exists.

[disclaimer]NOT SAYING THEY ARE SAFE TO PLAY AND I'VE HEARD RUMOURS THAT THEY WILL DAMAGE YOUR COMPUTER.[/disclaimer]

Hezbollah made two games where you gun down Americans and IDF as a lebanese war hero, more or less.

Special Force
Special Force 2: Tale of the Truthful Pledge

Enjoy!

OT, this game this thread is about looks like it could be worth taking a look at.

Yeah it's oversaturated now, so I'm definitely not going in that direction. For sure. The post-apoc USSR was one of ideas I considered, but they now got to that, too.
are you still working on the game of yours? haven't heard anything about it for ages

I was about to download the new version of America's Army but they went full blown Steamtards, so no Kwa propaganda shooter for me.

Shelter was slipping under the radar on most sites because it used Fallout: Tactics assets, and most people have trouble telling form from function. It was also unsellable in this form.

So the engine was suspended in October 2010, while the new contract artist and I have been working on minimal human graphics for Shelter (such as in my avatar). By now we completed 4 males with all required animations and 1 unigender (power armor). 4 females and child animations remain.

But my main focus since October 2010 has been Monsterland, which I must complete and release on Steam (preferably) as a small indie game. Soon.

Because Kickstarter won't finance my quitting of job to complete Shelter. It only finances "supplemental moneys" for people whose problem is money, not time/focus/stress. I can barely complete Monsterland, a much simpler game, while being stuck in this full-time software job, and Shelter is greatly more complex.

However microscopic is the chance of Monsterland financing my quitting of job, it is the only chance I have at completing Shelter.

One step at a time my friend.

Monsterland looks fun... I hope you have very slim needs, preferably none.
Did you calculate any type of breakeven point? how many will you need to sell to finish shelter?

I kinda... don't want to think about it. I just want to release a game that I can stand behind, and be a legit developer.

Then, should I resort to the desperation that is Kickstarter (for Shelter), I could at least point to Monsterland being on a distribution platform and say - see, I have experience completing a game.
