NWN2's dialogue, story, characters and writing are better than in the BG series. Even more clear with MotB, which blows the whole comparison out of the water.

Apart from using an adaptation of the 3.5 rules instead of 3.0 -- NWN2 has larger party sizes and allows direct control of party members.

Nope. Story, and characters, BG2 beats NWN2 OC. Or NWN1 OC. Dialogue systemn the edge goes to NWN series though.
