I love this site. And I love to make fun of over-dramatized whining.
Eh, you and Ex must get along splendidly.

And honestly, if you're going to throw the "Because I honestly don't see why you feel the need to add this to just about every thread otherwise..." then talk to someone like Volourn first please.
I've already witnessed Volourn's insanity. And yes, you're right. He's silly.
thx. LOL. ROOFLES.
That's a killer Pyro impression.
Especially when this what, the second thread in which I've made fun of this...
English you not speak.

I have no problems with exit.

English you not speak.
Shit dude, I forgot an "is" and a question mark. You got me good.

I find it interesting and funny though. If I were to go into the last couple threads and follow with the mantra of "bethesda is shit, they kill puppies and fallout fans, let's whine" then you wouldn't have given half a shit about what I said, you wouldn't have made your whiney post about "oh, you feel the need to post the same opinion in every thread, we don't need you".

Uh, does pushing the graphics forward push a genre forward?

Last time I checked each bethesda game has been crappier than the last, but better looking.

Crappier to whom? You? Why would that matter to anyone? I found each ES game to be an improvement in some ways and a step back in others. Same with almost every sequel to every game ever made. Improving the graphics CAN push a genre forward. It doesn't normally, but in the case of Morrowind I think it did. Morrowind was the first pc-like crpg to really make it on a console system. That in and of itself caused that game to move the genre forward. I hate consoles but I'm very aware that they are dominating the market.
If Oblivion wasn't being developed for consoles it probably wouldn't be developed for the pc either. This game is extremely expensive. Bethesda needs the revenue that a console port will bring. Morrowind probably sold 10 times the copies on Xbox that it did on pc. I pulled that from my ass, but it's likely true.

Right.

I find it interesting and funny though.
There you go again, using pronouns without antecedents leaving me to wonder just what in the blazing FUCK you're talking about.
If I were to go into the last couple threads and follow with the mantra of "bethesda is shit, they kill puppies and fallout fans, let's whine" then you wouldn't have given half a shit about what I said,
As opposed to the mantra of "everything anybody posts is a slam on bethsoft and I should make fun of that cause hey its fun!"??
you wouldn't have made your whiney post about "oh, you feel the need to post the same opinion in every thread, we don't need you".
See, now you're just assuming AND changing my statements to fit into your fragile little schema. My post was more of a query and provocation. I was wondering if you were just the token defensive poster who really does fly off the handle whenever posed with something and sure enough you are. THANKS FOR PLAYING.

Ok, I'll play. In what ways was MW an improvement? No "it sold gazillions on the consoles" arguments please

Yeah, its the only big name RPG to look forward to right now. And by RPG I mean non-action, non-diablo clone, non-MMO RPG. I guess NWN2 is coming out 2006, but the lack of details on it make me think its still a long time coming.

Are you kidding me? Surely people here at the Codex can't be so asinine as to deliberately 'forget' the screenshot of Oblivion's dialogue in which it was displayed that the dialogue was to be handled similarly to Fallout, Baldur's Gate and other RPGs rather than utilize the topic index-system of Morrowind.
I don't think there is a limit to how asinine people here at the Codex can be.

'Tis sad to see the braindead being able to post even if they don't know nothing.

I found it, thanks. No wonder it's not on the official site - it's a bit ugly. And it doesn't show dialogue per se. Look for yourself here. A NPC says something and that's all. No options available to PC are present.

The Alchemy system is probably the best ever created in a crpg to date. By this I'm talking about the number of ingredients and the way you process those ingredients with the 4 alchemical devices.

Enchantments are also very well done.

Raised the bar on graphics in crpgs. Not really important to me but it does help with immersion.

It sold gazillions on the consoles :) In all seriousness though, the console market is huge.
Being able to sell the game on the Xbox allows Bethesda the money to continue raising the bar for each game. Without Xbox sales of Morrowind, we probably wouldn't be seeing Oblivion so soon. The team would be smaller and the development cycle would be longer.

The music in Morrowind was wonderful. There wasn't nearly enough of it, but what was there was great. This was a vast improvement over Daggerfall, which had plenty of low-quality music. Morrowind/Oblivion is so huge that you'd almost need 5 full soundtracks just to solve the repetition problem. I thought Divine Divinity did a great job here too.

I'm very happy to be in the majority on this. Morrowind was a great game with some things that could be improved. It looks like they're trying to improve those things. I'm
leery of the combat improvements but we'll see. As long as magic is more viable I won't have to worry about fighting with sword and shield.

About the tremendous Xbox sales... didn't anyone ever notice that Morrowind and the KOTORs are about the only RPGs ever released for Xbox? Where else are Xbox owners supposed to go if they decide they want a good RPG?

Jade Empire which CRUSHES both of the above mentioned games. CRUSHES.

And, only FAKE role-players think otherwise.
