Just glanced at the first and last pages of that thread, and "- make the structure of the game feel less arcade-y.. I don't think the structure is bad, but sometime the transition can be a bit jarring, especially considering your usual rpgs.. that's part of why I think people took this game for a third person shooter/stealth;" this part of a post weirded me out. That was one GOOD aspect of Alpha Protocol and should have (Theoretically) let them have less linear levels. No designing big hub areas for the PC to wander around in and talk to peasants, just small safehouses for launching missions and then the mission locations themselves. Should have been a perfect opportunity to make nonlinear Thief/Hitman-esque levels, Obsidian just fucked it up horribly.

Although the guy does say he never encountered a boss which I am fairly confident is not true. Unless it is possible to rat diplomacy everyone, even the no-name lieutenant in the first mission/operation/whatever.

HUURGHHH THAT GAME I NEVER PLAYED IS SO BAD

Kind of like talking about how awesome certain Bloodlines paths are without having played them.

Best use of C&C on dialogues since Fallout 2 and Arcanum, the rest was shit.
If they improve the rest, I don't see why not make an AP2.

I want a sequel, I've said it multiple times. No problem with people wanting one or not wanting one. Don't buy it if you don't like it, but don't attack if people want to play more of it. It's not like everyone is going to follow the same style that Alpha Protocol did given that it wasn't reviewed as well as the games that get clones.

In before someone says it's a Mass Effect clone purely because it is a 3rd person RPG and involves shooting.

Make levels big and open instead of small and linear. Improve the stealth system a bit and force the player into a few less fights. Balance the weapon skills a bit better, make the enemies a bit smarter. It would be excellent. Fuck, just having large non-linear levels alone would have made AP the best in either the shooter or RPG genre this year IMO.

I'm all for a sequel to AP. It was a good game.
Agree bro, one of the few "new shit" I actually enjoy and do something better with your life instead of daily trolling, Drog.

Okay, I went back and played the game to completion due to all the bitching...

It's still not a good game. It's a mediocre game. The combat really is complete shit, with unbalanced weapon skills. The stealth is a joke, especially with the incredibly overpowered shadow operative. Boss battles are... well, fuck, they're arcadey boss battles. As a shooter or a stealth game it is a bad game.

The C&C is impressive, but ultimately I feel that it doesn't save the game. The story itself is downright shit, and most of the dialogues are mediocre. There are a few gems, and a few good characters, but for the most part it languishes in mediocrity. The C&C really is the only part of the game that is good. If comparing to bloodlines, the characters aren't as good, the dialogue isn't as good, the story isn't nearly as good, and the combat is about on par.

The Codex has truly declined if people are screaming for a sequel to this monument to mediocrity.

Drog, you're starting to resemble Andhaira with your constant trolling and spamming.
