So, just to recapitulate on games that are coming out in the near future (or have a very good chance to).

AoD, Project Zombie, WL 2, Banner Saga, Eternity, Divinity: Original Sin, Dragon Commander... and...

...and these are all coming out in the next 2-3 years, yes?

The buckets, they fill with my ejaculate.

Stretch goals look like shit.
Agreed. I donated so they would make the game they want to make. I don't need stretch goals that will promise more companions and a livable house. Just make the game you were going to make.

I 've just read the streach goals and while more companions and class is ncie, i dont like that "house to customize thing" ive not sent moneyto get a low budget mainstream game. Seen enough of that in oblivion and skyrim, i dont want those kind of sims addons in my rpg, i d like greater things than this . Now by customizable if you intend to include the traditional D&D stronghold with servant(and maids) to boss around and new quests realted to it ,thief guild, or a wizard lab etc , i am ok with it .

Man, I agree that those stretch goals are massively disappointing :(! WEE, moar companions to romance and a house to have se... er... I mean to play interior decorator in.

This kind of deflated my euphoria like when Fargo suggested social gaming in W2.

2 million-3 million stretch goals - fluff to keep the donations from the biodrones flowing in.

The REAL stretch goals start at 3 million. That's where you'll see stuff like mod tools.

Yeah maybe adding ONE more new race/companion is fine. The rest should be focused mainly on STORY and new areas. The house is gay. Also the are incredibly stupid ignoring launguage translations (polish/french/german etc...). The Mac and Linux is good.

I imagine the game they have in mind needs over 3 million. That 1.1 million figure is more to generate activity rather than being their planned budget

I think that's the basic rule of KS: you ask for a third of what you really need.

DRM Free: We are looking into it! Please check back for updates.

This is pretty rude as well.
If we fund it, we should decide whether it should have DRM or not.
It's not their money to protect.

You don't really need to worry about Tim, he may be gay but not a fag. I'd rather worry about Sawyer...

It seems you're not the only one: http://www.formspring.me/JESawyer

Actually, they though they had a 50/50 chances to get the 1.1 million... In 31 days

From the something awful forums:

Josh Sawyer said:
Before we launched I felt we were 50/50 on hitting our funding goal. I really had no idea what to expect. Kickstarter for funding games at the $1 million+ range is still pretty new/uncommon.
(...)
Realtalk: we are, in fact, stalling a bit because literally none of us believed that this would get funded at this speed. I simply don't have a coherent blog update to give you right now and I apologize. I will be spending a great deal of tomorrow writing a blog post that explains fundamentals of the world, but that's not a "jot down a few words" sort of thing to be taken lightly. Again, sorry.

Race privilege JE Sawyer replied:
I can't talk a lot about the details of the world yet, but let me explain this one a little more. It's a bit of a misnomer. It wasn't a god who was killed, but a (possibly?) possessed saint. And the saint wasn't "hammered". He was killed with a bomb. Like... yeah, a really big bomb.

Okay, that's all until I have time to do a proper update.

Possessed saint?

suejak He is making sense. He may be wrong, but his point is logically valid. He's saying that Josh Sawyer with no publisher oversight and full creative control will basically go all-out flaming PC liberal. That's all.

He's said that Sawyer would remove characters with "offensive" views. That was a stupid and unjustified concern, but at least it was coherent.

Now he's claiming that it's absurd how, in a rough-and-tumble kill-or-be-killed medieval world, the thing fans are opposed to are boob-exposing female outfits. That doesn't make any sense as a criticism.

I should clarify that I THINK that's what he's saying. It's hard to mine any meaning out of: "And that every single character in a medieval world where they choose to bash people over the head for not believing in their god or stealing a loaf of bread is illuminated in sexual egalitarianism. Sawyer: No, but after all Bethesda had the last say xD"

"How come they're not doing that kick it forward thing?

Feels a bit rude of them."
They are a bizness trying to make money and kickstarter is a way to find investors. If you want to give your money to them so they can give it to bums with crappy projects go ahead. if I donate money to them (if they put in dwarves)l; I want them into invest my money into the project I invested in and not give it to some loser whose project sucks.
