I'm playing it again. I'm simply curious to explore more possibilities.

Spoiler:

I let One-of-Many devour Myrkul, but my faithful undead companion lost control shortly after and crafty Myrkul took over:

Truly a great game. Btw, increase your wisdom before you talk to Myrkul to understand the true reason for the curse.

It would be nice if we had blackout spoiler tags. We usually only have 8-year-old spoilers to talk about, but here's a new game and I'm sure people are ruining it for themselves by skipping past spoiler notices absentmindedly.

I wasn't mentioned once in that review.

Fail

If I ever buy NWN2, I'll buy this.

Awesome. Looks like I'll have to replay the game very soon.
I simply devoured the whole Furnace and never got One-of-Many to join me.

I agree. And now that the Codex becomes more of a moderated forum (although in comparison to almost any other place on the net its still a heaven of freedom), it would be nice to have a coherent spoiler policy.

I usualy skip reading threads about new games after 2 or 3 pages because most often thats were tyhe heavy spoilers start, and more often than not they arent really marked as such.

No. You can easily avoid spoilers. Tags would be just a nuisance.

Making sure that people don't post porn openly and throwing out some idiots doesn't mean that it's a moderated forum.

Yes, it does.

"Making sure that people don't post porn openly and throwing out some idiots"

Case closed. It sound slike moderation to me. It just isn't HEAVILY moderated (yet). That's exactly what he said. Don't be sod efensive.

Anyways, while I like MOTB just fine, I haven't played much since I entered chapter 2... hopefully, I cna get back into it; but I'm having fun with NHL 08.

Technically there is no such thing is an unmoderated forum, if you exclude the dead ones.

Can I make new post in the news section?
Can I create as many alts as I want?
Does spam gets nuked (the good side of moderation)?

If there are rule and they are enforced, technically, the forum is moderated.

I'll try to cut down on the smilies in my posts. As for my posts being written for 5 years, I'll try to remember that the members of the codex are mostly adults and don't need to lectured like they did when they were at school. But my comment still stands. The point was to say that a review is someone's subjective opinion of something, not the objective truth or opinion.

From the "technically" point of view, sure. From the "for all intents and purposes" point of view, it's an unmoderated forum.

Do we have a team of mods checking every thread and every posts and comparing the content to a long list of rules that shall not be broken? No. Can you post anything you want and suffer no consequences as long as your points are well presented and explained? Sure.

Now that's a post I can read without feeling the urge to skip half of it, thanks!

Off topic (I'll try and be as short and concise as possible) -

Power corrupts! The only way to not let power corrupt is not using it. Unused power is wasted power. Catch 22.

This is why I believe most man (and women) in power are "remembered" by history as either good or bad, or more precisely, people in position of power that have use their power to do more good then harm, or more harm then good, respectively.

Back on topic, you once said that you would like to make this place a "hub" for independent games.

The way I see it, it boils down to two options:

A. You leave everything more or less the same, and then people will complain that the site doesn't get enough traction on the big web (you can only bitch and moan so much before you get tired of it) or something like that, any which case this place will remain a niche within a niche, which will eventuality make this place go mostly of topic, we already covered RPG from just about any possible angle, and without a constant feed of "fresh blood" there will be soon nothing left but to talk about (mostly) other thing, or alternatively keep talking about the same thing over and over and over (thread topic: "BG thread #744").

And B. Make this place a LITTLE bit more palatable, at the expense of "freedom and "open discussion" and then of course people will complain that you are killing the codex spirit.

Either way you're fucked.

Do we have a team of mods checking every thread and every posts and comparing the content to a long list of rules that shall not be broken? No. Can you post anything you want and suffer no consequences as long as your points are well presented and explained? Sure.

The question is what is your goal, as it stands right now, its basically up to you, you are the one in teh "position of power".

Is your goal is to keep the status quo, or is it something else? Just remember that you cant have it both ways.

Give me liberty or death! I'm with Volorun on this one.

Not really. It doesn't corrupts automatically. Instead, it tests. Some people can handle it, some can't. Simple as that.

This is why I believe most man (and women) in power are "remembered" by history as either good or bad, or more precisely, people in position of power that have use their power to do more good then harm, or more harm then good, respectively.
Because the history doesn't tend to remember those who didn't give a shit about power and didn't do anything with it.

Well, MotB and Witcher changed that overnight. Hopefully more games will continue the trend.

The question is what is your goal, as it stands right now, its basically up to you, you are the one in teh "position of power".

There are two aspects of the Codex: the front page (news, interview, reviews, etc) and the forums. I assume we're talking about the forums now. I want to keep the forums as a good, possibly the best - due to the knowledge and intelligence of the members - place to discuss RPGs.

I'm not changing anything. I'm simply maintaining the existing "model", which always protected quality discussions and solid positions, no matter how "controversial", but was never friendly to useless idiots.

Even videogamessuck.com say this game doesn't suck, in fact theylike it a lot.

Story: So you wake up in some cave where some bald bitch is about to give you some bald head. You escape the cave and the spirit bear Okku wants to cut your dick off and mount it on a pike. Anyways you work your shit out and it turns out that you have been infected with a curse called the spirit eater bullshit. It just basically means you were such a pussy you could resist a curse. Anyhows you work thorugh the game to solve this curse and other shit it entails. The story and plot in this game is much more intriguing in this game than it was previously. The story is pretty damn good and it feels more captivating than the original campaign. So fucking hooray!

A good addon providing extra classes, a continuation of the campign, and higher level caps 9/10
