Yeah, insane RNG to cast a spell 3 times because it only succeeds on a saving throw roll of 7 or less. What a fucking dogshit game, how dare there be RNG like that in an RPG of all things. You really are fucking retarded if you think that this kind of gameplay is bad design for an RPG. Having encounters put you into a difficult situation and forcing you to overcome it through clever use of scrolls, wands, switching some pieces of equipment or trying out a variety of different spells and strategies to overcome it and increasing the odds to succeed WITHOUT needing massive nat 1s/20 rolls. That's exactly what the game is about, and these mini-bosses so far were well done in that regard. I never had to reload excessively and pray for multiple insane rolls, so maybe you just suck at the game and call it "full RNG" when you're simply not smart enough to overcome the challenges it throws your way. Thankfully you can always play it on Story Mode, although the writing isnt nearly good enough to justify that. The only fun of the game is the combat, so maybe if it's not your cup of tea then you're better off playing a different game.

Plus the fact that This and Daeran(which from some spoilers is also almost autofail) was stretchgoal ? just compare the Male and Female romances for stretchgoal. I was thinking it might finally make the class worth playing but I don't know if there are caster level caps or something else that would make the build suck. Also having to wait until chapter 5 to go mythic legend is pretty shit. Right now I'm playing as oracle/empyreal sorc/thurg. I thought it would be a good idea since both of the recruitable healers are faggots and it's nice that you can have your spells, perception, and persuasion (with the right background) all being based off Wisdom but at the same time I'm thinking this build might be retarded and I should respec into something else.

So, another seeming bug. If you take lich you can combine your spellbook with a base class, becoming a ridiculous magic god who casts siroccos at level 9. But it seems that if you take a prestige class afterwards that interacts with your spellbook (say loremaster or eldritch knight) having a combined spellbook just completely breaks the prestige class, and it gives you 0 casting progression. So that's a bit shit. I'm probably going to try respecing to see if leveling in a different order helps, but I have this fear that if I respec now I'll just lose access to all my lich spells.

Not sure it's a lich thing, I put scroll girl as a loremaster and she didn't get caster progression.

Probably a terrible idea as when it comes to hard fights they are immune to every mind affecting effects, immune to most elements, with a spell resist through the roof, so only the spells bypassing sr completely and the ones in the mythic books like lich can land. Casters get the shaft.

It does seem like there's no timer at all in A3, you can just spam rest as much as you want.

With a pure sorc (or any arcane caster) + Lich it's possible to get 24h Hastes, Imp. Invisibilities and other round per level spells by using Extend spell and getting the two mythic feats that extend the duration of beneficial spells. How worthwhile would that really be? Some buffs seem to last between spells, so I'd have permanent Legendary proportions, haste, g.invis, and other spells.

Mythic feats allow you to bypass most elemental reductions. if you really want you can choose that path. However, it is a waste of time even when you can. A spell is best used to:

1. Buff
2. Debuff
3. Summon

If you are doing anything other than the above 3 you are doing it wrong.

well debuff wont work, they are immune to stat drain, negative level, mind affecting, even slow... Summon ok, but they are really there to get a turn or two of damage. Buff yes, but why spec a main character into this, use any of the compnanions to do it .
You can still do damage as caster with mythic spells or if you use basic spells and waste a mythic feat, but it will be inferior to buffed melee, who get extrmeely good gear in wotr.
