In the era of NYT stealth edits and journo late-night twitter sprees, there are still people who can't be bothered to archive articles and Twitter embeds they post. There's already a browser extension doing just that.

Even if you can't be bothered to post a link to the archive, archive it anyway and let the next person in line retrieve it from the archive once the post is deleted.

There should really be more peer pressure to make 404's an exception rather than the norm.
