Must every Western game woman be now a bland thing with a giant chin?

if they take so much time making sure the females are visually unappealing instead of concentrating on the gameplay and story you just know this will be perfectly dank
They managed to have shit gameplay and story in NuTomb Raider and Laura was still cute despite the smaller tits.

Nu-Tomb Raider came out in ye olden days of 2013, when developers (I almost said "people" and had to correct myself) still wanted to put attractive women in games.

Inspiration in the gameplay video seems to be drawn from:

  • Mirror's Edge
  • Deus Ex (Human Revolution)
  • Metal Gear Solid 4/5
  • Splinter Cell?
  • Tomb Raider?

In 2022, The Initiative and Crystal Dynamics began rebuilding the game from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5, as The Initiative had opted to move to the engine before Crystal Dynamics was brought on.
It's Dishonored w/ guns and Mirror's Edge parkour.

Actually, Nu-Raider had a head start in the poz department. A scrapped concept for the reboot, "Tomb Raider: Ascension", had Lara as a lesbian. Some claim there are slight traces of this in the final, but thankfully that aspect was vetoed. If they made the reboot nowadays, that would not be the case.

Making the the protagonist chick a lesbian codes 'woke' these days, but it used to just be that 'one weird trick' to show you were open-minded while whitewashing the obvious titilation. There's a reason Willow is a scissoring witch, but there was no fucking way Xander was gonna plow butts. Nobody wants that shit.

It would be stupid either way, but if they pulled Lesbo Lara in the 90s it at least would have been... you know...

Don't care for her design, find this generic first-person parkour rote at this point, and centering gun before almost every shot makes me not want to play it.

Looks like a mix of Crysis, Mirror's Edge, and Assassin's Creed.
The female in that cover image for the gameplay video looks like Jesse from Remedy's Control.
Don't you dare besmirch Control by comparing it to this thing.
All I'm saying is that that cover image looks remarkably similar to Jesse.
Nah, Jesse resembles a female and the actress who mo-caps her is actually quite cute (the game doesn't do her justice).

This nu Dark bitch has a more masculine jawline than I do

And the shit gameplay got even worse, and she got uglier in every new iteration.

Check her other photos. Courtney Hope [Jesse's model] has an unusual jawline.

Edit: looking at the pic I think its clear she had pretty extensive plastic surgery. Botox, lips, jaw, cheeks, nose, etc.
Yeah that doesn't resemble her appearance much in the game or in other (I'm assuming earlier) photos. Fucking botox.

Is nu Joanna Dark mo-capped by a actress? I'd be curious to see what she actually looks like. In the trailer I thought she looked like a trans Brie Larson.

The tone is just wrong. Did they forget how dark and violent the original Perfect Dark was? Landing on a rooftop by night with a silencer on the first mission and shooting dozens of poorly trained henchman who didn't see it coming while hearing them scream and die in pools of their own blood. Joanna Dark was cold and merciless and it set the tone of the game. It was one of the most violent games on N64..

She [new Jo Dark] probably is based on a real life person. There hasn't been any further images beyond that cover image and that shot of her during the trailer's opening. She looks like a stuck-up authoritarian British female who works in some kind of government department.
