CRPG games.
It is a useful category. And your point is stupid. It's like being the 10,000th midwit to point out that categories aren't perfect. What an amazing insight.Unironically thought it stood for 'console' for the first year or so after encountering the term. No, the C stands for Computer.
Otherwise all the console kiddies are going to claim "Classic RPG? Why of course, that stands for early JRPGs on the Super Nintendo and Playstation!"
It's never been a very useful category, and it's significantly worse now that there's so little difference between computers and consoles, especially in regards to rpgs.
Who browses shit via categories any more anyways? Tag based systems are far more useful, and if you're dealing with people, simply referencing a particular game is the way to go. "Recommend me a good crpg" is like saying "Recommend me a good haircut."
I misunderstood your point. I didn't realize you were saying it wasn't narrow enough, I apologize. However I'd still disagree because it is narrow enough if you just want to play an rpg.Except horror is a specific genre. "Recommend a good movie" would be closer.
And anybody that actually watches horror films would think "good horror film" is a shit category too, because there are many different types of horror films. Not my bag, but even I know there's a big difference between a gory violence flick and a creepy hidden monster flick. The only people who ask for "good horror film" are people that don't give a shit about horror films. Likewise, "good crpg" is the kind of thing the 10,000th midwit that's never played a crpg would ask, and could result in anything from Morrowind to Fallout to Diablo or Darkest Dungeon. Real time vs turn based, party or solo, elves or cyborgs, open world or linear story?
If you're asking for "good crpg" you may as well have asked for a good brown game.
Nope , those are called JRPG. I don remember what JRPG stood for, my guess is: Jewish role-playing game. But it does.Otherwise all the console kiddies are going to claim "Classic RPG? Why of course, that stands for early JRPGs on the Super Nintendo and Playstation!"

A degeneracy leads to another, this is what Gen Xers will never understand. It stands for Jerk-off Role Playing Game, referencing the fact that most JRPGs are made for coomers.
Cool it with defamation. If JRPGs were made for us, they'd feature real women of whichever age is barely legal in your country of residence, not cartoonish prepubescent freaks.
JRPGs are made for pedos.

Coomers get the rope too.
