Immunity to common physical damage types as well? Bold move. I was sure it was only going to be elemental/magical types.
The immunity to piercing weapons must be because fire blights explode and cause close range damage when they die. All ranged weapons except implements are piercing, I believe.
I dunno, that's the one they were complaining about.Just fire ones?
Look, do you want hard counters or not?Oh god... all he does is to castrate players or to provide pseudo-choices that don't really matter. This is why there's no hope.
Seriously, you have a creature that explodes when dies. A decent designer would use the enviroment & clever encounter design to try to force players to fight it up close - Sawyer releases them on huge open areas and just goes "NO, YOU CAN'T FIGHT THEM RANGED CAUSE THEY ARE IMMUNE! YEAH, FUCK YOU!"
BTW, there's nothing about implements that's inherently crappy on a non-wizard, other than that they don't Blast. Might be a way to get players to consider experimenting with them more.
Is that supposed to be a plus? Obsidian's writing has declined in their last games, and PoE was one of their worst offerings writing wise. She's working for Obsidian and she did a lot of the writing for PoE.
I looked at their stats and they do the weakest damage and have medium range. Against an enemy with no particular piercing resistance, a hunting bow is better than a wand or sceptre. Not sure about rods, it does do 1 point of minimum/maximum damage more but it's also slower and I don't want to do DPS calculations (I'd take a war bow over a rod though).
As long as he's naked, right? Dat game design. But if you're up against a single foe that's immune to Piercing, well, your strong/fast fighter will probably do more damage with a wand than your wizard.
What about solo playtrough, f.e. Rogue with daggers? Is that piercing dmg?
can't seem to find this expansion in the products page - you guys sure that all kickstarter backers get it? Doesn't appear to be the case with me.
Well you can buy it on the DLC page of PoE. Or when you click on 'Show more DLC' on your steam library.can't seem to find this expansion in the products page - you guys sure that all kickstarter backers get it? Doesn't appear to be the case with me.
Feargus mentioned that in an interview - I figured what he meant was that everyone got the first part of the expansion, but guess that isn't the case anymore.I don't how you got the idea that all Kickstarter backers get it.
