The gaming journalists are returning from E3 and have begun to post their previews of the Pillars of Eternity: The White March expansion. Obsidian released four screenshots from the expansion for them to use:

Here are the previews I've found so far:

The most notable takeaway from the previews is that Obsidian have managed to implement individual stealth, finally bringing that feature up to parity with the Infinity Engine games. You'd think that would have been important enough to mention in the gameplay demonstration. Also, there are details on new abilities, the new soulbound weapons, and even some plot spoilers. Oh, and the new level cap is 14. The High-Def Digest preview says that the first part of the expansion alone will be the same size as Tales of the Sword Coast. We'll see, I guess.

I had hoped the first expansion would be more like MotB. Oh well. If it is anything like the base game, it'll still be good.

From the polygon review:

"... every step until then is brought with peril."

Shouldn't that be fraught with peril? Who are these reviewers and why is anybody letting them near a computer role-playing game!

Contrary to my expectations, those screenshots look far worse than base POE, which was generally beautiful. I wonder if it's something to do with how they're handling snow (i.e. terribly)? At least there's a great IWD vibe.

First screenshot doesn't look that bad. The others are zoomed in and PoE always looked kinda shitty zoomed in because the backgrounds get blurry and the horrible aliasing on character models becomes more apparent

Killer rack on that killer robot.

Wasn't the new level cap 15? Also, no word on release date, right?

Level 15 would require an additional level of spells they'd have to design and implement, that was never happening.

I thought Josh was against boobplate. :M

It'd be impossible to discern her sex otherwise. Then she'd be the Shale of Eternity as opposed to the not-quite-EDI (no robot cameltoe here).

If they come up with anything as interesting as Durlag's Tower I will shit my pants.

Killer rack on that killer robot.

I came here to say basically the same thing.

Ironic that the construct has massive tits, but the actual flesh females in the game do not.

The art also isn't that good compared to a lot of the the base game areas, but it looks unfinished. Shame though.
