Kilur thanked Margaret for the information and slapped a few gold pieces onto the table for a modest room. Brytter, Mardrey and the Colonel did the same.
Mumbles approached the concierge desk, coyly. He flashed a smile and a wink at the woman and proceeded to deliver a progeny about a future together, detailing plans of a son named Grumbles and his journey into manhood decades from now. But, first, he said, flirtatiously, they have to make a baby.
The woman was overwhelmed not just by the story, but from Mumbles weirdly attractive half-orc face and body. She started to sweat slightly, stammered for words, and felt her stomach drop.
"I, uh, get off a in a few hours, if..." she struggled to find the words, "talk more about it in my room. That is, of course, your friends don't mind."
Mumbles flashed her a wide grin.
Meanwhile, Brytter, Mardrey, Kilur and the Colonel went to the bar to quench their thirst. The four chatted with some of the establishment's regulars, trying to find out more information about the monastery, which learned, depending on whom they talked to, was either filled with treasure or stripped of it foundation, with ghosts and demons roaming the halls.
Amid the conversation, Thomas Brave (
Kalarion), a young mage, perked his ears up when he heard the party mention the monastery. He recently accepted a job with a group called The Brotherhood. A representative told him to travel to Brookhaven and find a group of explorers investigating the ruins. He got up and approached the group.
"Excuse me," he said. "Did I hear you talking about the ruins up in the mountains?"
