Fallout had a great ending.

and I thought it added another dimension to the game, that somebody had hired the Madarin to test Vampires for weaknesses. I wonder who that could have been...
... and the fact that information was on a PC but you couldn't do anything with it.

Bloodlines fell over at Hollywood but the Hollowbrook Hotel shot it in the head. There are plenty of places prior which are bad too. The disease quest is a shoot 'em up and as has been said, the old sewers / warrens.

You all here are fucking morons. Are you so tired of bashing Bioware & their new internal division Obsidian and theirlike so that you turn on a dead developer (Troika) and other comunity sites? You make me sick.

Well, this post is about Troika and their RPG of the Year award. So, why not talk about their game. Just because the developer couldn't make a fourth game is no reason to not talk about their third. And you do realize Obsidian is a company independent from Bioware, except upon their seeming reliance on Bioware's bigname titles. And I don't think anyone's bashed Bioware yet in this post, or at least I don't remember doing so.

Yep, Fallout did have a great ending. Thats why its FALLOUT, the legendary RPG, and the game CRPGers look towards as the quintessential RPG. Its the exception, not the rule.

As for the Plague Bearer quest, it was an optional quest. But the level was fairly short, and somebody with inspection could avoid at least the first floor of zombies. One of Bloodlines strength is the varied gameplay. That means having running through a haunted hotel, playing detective, and occasionally engaging in mindless violence. Its not until the game forcees you into one type of gameplay for extended periods of time that it really gets bad. And the only times it does that are the Warrens, Hollowbrook, Golden Temple, and Ventrue Tower.

Just because Bioware's NWN sucks doesn't give us any less reason to excuse Troika or anybody else's game. They're mutually exclusive subjects and we can't all be expected to be fanboys over everything Troika creates just because some 'darker entity', as it were, looms on the horizon. The material was judged accordingly and found wanting.

Well, there went the no bashing Bioware streak. At least I wasn't the one to break it. Plus, I'm not so much praising Bloodlines because its Troika's, but because I just found the game that good. It was like playing a cross between Fallout and Deus Ex, and that can't be a bad thing. There seems to be a lot of group think going on here, where everybody assumes the game was a "flawed masterpiece". I really don't think that, since I found the bugs and performance issues to be minimal. A few sore spots hardly ruin a game. Need I ask again if anybody found Xen enjoyable?

FUCK YOU ALL...RAAR! Gosh, these cramps are really bad this month, I wish I had a penis.

I couldn't agree more.

I see I am not the only one who finds your hostility endearing. Carry on.

Considering the level of support that Troika has had from a lot of the people here (especially DU who has a Troika fansite) I think they have every right to feel bitter when it goes wrong, especially when most of the points are fair opinion or fact.

Dear Miss Hissy Fit,

What the fuck are you on about?
Up to the point of your post there were people (inc. myself) actually saying "hey, that Vampire wasn't so bad after all". And there was non-fuckwit explaining and shit. If people disagreed they were doing it in a(n) (unusually?) non-fuckwit manner. Don't lump us all together in one big moan-bag. Read the fucken thread properly before you unleash your PMT on an unsuspecting public.

Bitch.

This is pretty much the philosophy I take. Though I think Vampire has more "sore spots" than HL, I have to say that my overall impression is that it was a pretty good game. If we piss on it this much for its mistakes, well, there must be fuck all games we play then.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

It's not my fault Trioika folded like spaghetti on meatballe.

Neither is it the Big Bad Publisher tm.

Or the so called braindead masses.

Nor was it your fault.

It was Troika's fault.

Period.

Game over.

4506 posts and still not one intelligent thing said, thats Volourn for you.

Ever hear of the Ashland Horse Wagon Company? They went out of business quite some time ago. It must be there own fault, right?

To say that Troika couldn't land a fourth contract is their own fault ignores the multitude of variables that could have effected the market in ways no one could forsee.

What? Is that a crybaby fanboy whining?

P.S. Make all the exuses you want. It's Troika's fault.

In the words of a famous man: Troika screwed Troika.

Dear Miss Hissy Fit,

I take it all back.
Volourn has arrived. All reasonableness will now disappear.
Apologies.
