And Obsidian has 4 times the budget of HBS.

"You need at least 3 million to make a RPG with looting."--a ridiculous notion.

Those are superfluous options, not a pillar of RPG play.

Neither is looting, it's just a form of rewarding the players for their effort. Getting your payment at the end of the run serves the same purpose.

That said, according to the QA you can still implement looting with the editor, just takes a little work around.

Hmm, looks like Obsidian and Harebrained Schemes have different ideas on what the basics are.

Yep, and obviously Obsidian fails at it.
No wonder they do the shit they do if they think "inventory and looting" are RPG "mechanics".

Yes it is.

Getting your payment at the end of the run serves the same purpose.
But it's not the same. Want that grenade that one guy could have used on you but didn't because you never grouped your runners in a cluster? Too bad. Want to raid an ammo cache? Too bad.

I know, that's what makes this so funny.

1. In many(Most) cRPGs you can't loot the actual equipment the enemies are using. Most game economies can't handle that.
2. You could still raid an "ammo cache" in Shadowrun. There is no looting enemy bodies, not no finding/picking up items.

What does Fallout have to do with it?
It's the gold standard brah.

Looting is important to an RPG, news at 11. Yet from the context of Shadowrun it makes sense not to include it. But this is a retarded argument btw, why am I enabling Roguey's shitty trolling attempts?

WTF you dorks. The Infinity Engine games also let you loot everything an enemy was carrying and wearing, armor included. Why even bring up Fallout?

Exactly, and Obsidian is trying to make an Infinity Engine style game with Project Eternity.
Shadowrun Returns is not. Nor are they trying to make Fallout.

Basic RPG mechanics. We need to prove that we’re making an RPG here obviously! We need basics like loot management; for instance, inventory and opening containers like chests.
Hmm, looks like Obsidian and Harebrained Schemes have different ideas on what the basics are.

I'm glad these people told me what a real RPG is, you people were all confusing me.
