Yeah that is 100% intentional Darklands homage for anyone that isn't familiar; it's even doing the stuff like the white space around the image to give it the feeling of an unfinished drawing and the same syntax in the text, the same leading illuminated capital letter even.

I'm still not over the fact I couldn't even imagine these games coming out last year or so

Anyone who isn't familiar with it should be banned. I'd start with the fags responsible for the top 10 list featuring Icewind Dale and two BG games but not Darklands.

Make it happen!

I haven't played Darklands :(

On the other hand, I only voted for PS:T and BG2 of the IE games.

I didn't care about PE because I don't like IE games in general.
But this Darklands homage makes me interested.

Darklands, one of the very few titles that we can call a historical fiction CRPG, and one of the best too.
I will never forget my first playthrough:
My party was in Burgundy, when those heretic villagers said they'll have their 'revenge' at 25th April near Flensburg, Denmark.
They'll do something in Denmark? Denmark? From here!? 3 month from now?
This is madness!

I was shocked, but spared no time as we were traveling day and night, with no rest, and encountered perils beyond belief like that Goddamn Wild Hunts, Bigfoot, and shits.
Finally, I arrived a few days before the Sabbath and successfully infiltrated the unholy union to find informations about a mysterious fortress/castle.

And thus my adventure began.

Everytime my mates say how immersive Oblivion/Skyrim is, I always tell them this story.
When the story ends, they'll open their mouth in amazement, no words, no sounds, just eerie silence.
Then in their eyes I see the true maladies of my generation. Such disgusting diseases called Consolitis, Biodrones Syndrome, Popamole Disorder.
I see them all in their eyes.
In the next day, the world will act like the conversation never happened.
My mates will play Monster Hunter again, as female characters in skimpy armor, while downloading shitty harem animes from their laptops.
God please gives me Mercy!
This shit already happened 3 times already!

Madness, madness never changes.
And another degenerate soul isn't worthy to experience such a masterpiece in gaming, one of the greatest CRPGs ever made, Darklands.
For that, I'm sad. :(

Sorry Bros, I'm rambling again.

Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut I'm very into cock and ball torture
I gotta say that the Darklands influence on gameplay and presentation makes this game almost too good to be true in my eyes. Hype increased over 9000. Please deliver, Obsidian!
...are they... courting us?!

I... like it.

And finally, I'm starting to get hyped for this, after pledging and getting that fearful, "meh" feeling because of all the biodrones and rtwp. :incline:

Darklands inspiration: :bounce:

The Darklands inspiration is awesome. I know Sawyer loves that game but I wasn't quite expecting it to manifest in PE. :salute:

I've played Darklands a bit but not extensively. It's mostly the UI that puts me off, it was clunky even for the time. I think it had some superb ideas though, so if some of them find their way to PE I'd really like that.
