Haha, well at least you seem to be in touch with your emotions! But in reality I don't think that I particularly "derped" that much at all. Even if I hadn't been invited back, the entire trip getting to their office and back took me just under an hour, so we're not talking about much time lost. I knew there was a chance they wouldn't let me in -- even though their post technically indicated that they should, the fact that they hadn't shared an address or an arrival time wasn't lost on me. But IF they were letting folks in, I didn't want to miss what would have been a very rare opportunity (i.e. the risk of not getting in was far less to me than the risk of missing a cool opportunity). And further, I had been locked in my home office for about a week, and I needed to get out of the house. The drive in to Irvine from where I live is an open, relaxing drive with almost no traffic. The drive all by itself did me plenty of good. So again, I fail to see how my one hour excursion should be regarded as some sort of cosmic failure in my life. --Just sayin'!

That said, if it helps you to get through the day to view me as some sort of slavering idiot, then you just go right ahead and think what you will. I won't even hold it against you!
