Here's a purdy looking possible action RPG type-thing from a bunch of unknowns using the Cryengine now on KickStarter:

Each character class can use up to six unique weapons, all exclusive to each class. Weapons are explicitly designed to shine in different types of combat situations and fighting styles. In Cradle, new weapons are rare and powerful items, often heavily guarded and hidden. Finding one is a big deal.

More than just unique weapons, armor and styles of combat, each character class has unique ways of moving throughout and exploring the world. As the Ranger you use your quick reflexes and agility to nimbly traverse otherwise impassible obstacles. These same obstacles could be overcome with the Paladins formidable strength, or the Arcanist's ability to control the world around them. Cradle will feature both male and female payable characters. No matter who you choose to be, you will have to forge your own path as you explore the world of Cradle.
[...]
Cradle’s environments are designed to tell a story. Its four open worlds exist to push the envelope of the fantasy genre and appeal to the wanderlust of adventurers. We are carefully crafting every detail to create an immersive, convincing universe. From ecosystems to dynamic weather, we’re building our environments using inspiration from the raw intricacy of the natural world.

Such "unique fantasy setting".

Anyway despite that bullshit I'm p. impressed considering all those dudes look fresh off university.

It looks kinda interesting even if it's not an RPG. However I'm really leery of what they said about the movement system. They say that the traditional fps movement system is clunky and that they're doing something different, but they don't go into what they're doing or what it is about the fps movement system that's clunky. Because it's not clunky. It's worked for a long time now. I get the feeling that they could come up with something really retarded. Will wait for more details.

One pretty map don't make a game.

Cradle provides an engaging new type of fast paced melee-combat that will force you to rely on your wits.

Yawn.

Cross posting from the kickstarter thread:

The art looks really pretty, but their story/writing sounds awful.

Disaster in the making. They will go bankrupt halfway into development and for what? For a suspect game by a bunch of buzzword-addict consoltards who think they got it. Might enjoy the eventual break down.

About 8 meters beneath sea level.
Looks like a massive gamble with a very young and unproven (if not inexperienced) team. Not to mention a low goal and a rationalisation that makes my bullshit meter jump into the red. Then again, the whole action game with stats vibe this is giving me doesn't interest me in the least.

I had to fight to stay awake during the video... gameplay sequence looks kinda boring, very linear and scripted... background sound was professional... artworks look interesting but it's a different story to paint something for the drools or to leveldesign... the spark didn't jump over.

It looks gorgeous but definitely pretty generic - I might back it regardless but it doesn't look like it's going to reach its goal at this point.

Doesn't the Cry Engine cost a ton to license?

Speaking of cradles, these guys look like they just got out of theirs. Seriously, they look like they could still be in high school.

At first, I thought these guys were aiming towards a Dark Souls-esque game and that's definitely good news but now I'm not so sure. Anyways, it doesn't look like they'll make their goal.

A second look at the "rest of the team" shows that more than 20 people were involved, so obviously they have the manpower to get this project done.

But as someone said, it looks too generic. I have nothing against a spiritual successor of Dark Messiah, but can't see anything special here, except a standard clobber animation. Not exactly the best choice to convince people...

For once I don't feel like I'm another of Sawyer's Stalkers (also known as the SS), because I have no idea what jesawyer has to do with this.

Roguey need some help here.
JES likes to take things very seriously.
