Don't play dumb. Pathing around the aggro ranges of enemies isn't the same as avoiding fights via dialogue options and skill checks.

Pathing and sneaking around was something different, and I found it much more interesting than skill checks. Anyway, I am not playing dumb, this was not what you wrote above. What you are now explaining is very different to what you originally stated. The House literally offers you options to get around enemies without fighting.

Of course, by reading all the hating for the House in the answers above, I can see that Codexers can only appreciate generic content, and if something breaks the mold (even in a hardcore way), their brains explode.

(self-reported for "butthurt" harvesting)

You are arguing against having options in an RPG. That's not butthurt, that's plain :retarded:

That is not "RPG options". Kingmaker allows you to increase all skills within a full party. It is not like a non-shitty party would not be able to pass any skill checks. This would have 100% invalidated the type of gameplay HATEOT was going for.

I might have accepted that argument, if the skill check system had been different, and had forced you to neglect some skills. Then it would have made sense to reward players who did not neglect certain skills. But that is not the kind of skill system we have here.

Fair point about the skill system, I admit.
They could have tied certain options to alignment though or even to curse research.
"Oh no the Lantern King forced us to fight you with one of his curses!"
(Requires Lawful) "Akshually, if you consider the wording of his curse the following way...bla bla bla"

They did. If you research all the curses something secret will happen.

I don't want to spoil anything. But you're close. Gotta research all the curses next time.

I know that, but apart from this one very specific thing the research is basically useless.

Oh, I get it, you would have liked it if the curse research was more involved in the game.

As it stands it is more or less a trap option for people to waste research time on, so yea.
