lumen skill (basically turns you into mahou shoujo)... The key is to have > 50 in accounting & wear the economics special outfit.

adventure game logic

It's so that you can bullshit your way through the guards and into the royal vault or something where your father has locked away the stone that allows you to use magic.

Bought the game because of the LP (also on a similar note, gave Planet Stronghold and Loren Amazon Princess a go too :P) and enjoyed it enough to complete it multiple times (game lasts a year so you have 50 or so weeks of game time total making it considerably shorter then princess maker 2 in that regard) and appreciated that you can go very different routes depending on your skills.

I tend to die quite a lot in my playthroughs though :\ Had 1 really horrible game over in particular, but will talk about that when the LP reaches that point ^^

For example, when you attend classes, there are no graphics to show what you're doing and just overall it's not a very aesthetic game. On the other hand, there are a ton of choices & consequences and a ton of stat checks for everything possible and I got the feeling the story would be dynamic, so it's quite impressive in that regard. Try the demo and maybe someone can pay the $13 and tell us how the full game is.
edit: RK I tilted my princess to be very good in faith abilities, she must've had over 50 in every faith skill. That opened a sub-story about wanting to steal some magic crystal. Other skills opened new activities like a dance ball or playing sports.

Your impressions seems spot on. This game is all about the C & C, especially considering the short time frame.

But I'll defend the way LLTQ does its classes, rather then having an animation, it goes into detail of what exactly your princess learnt, allowing you a more elegant way of gauging your protege's progress then a numerial stat (so court manners 10=you're told your princess knows how to greet nobles without offending them)
