Yeah, that half dozen is pretty funny. I was one of em 5 years ago during the flagship thing, but I never get more than 90% involved in my cult activities. They'll release late August/ early September since they gotta be close to broke by now. Pretty sure most of em got 10-12 hour work days right now, btw, and Marsh and Travis are more like 16-18 hr/ day

If that's true then I have no idea what they were doing the last sixteen or so months. And, actually I don't think they're in any financial danger. They opened the preorders up on Steam and just put up the vague 'Summer 2012' date since Valve usually requires some kind of target before they allow a game to be sold. They got a massive influx of cash from those preorder sales. Pretty sure it ranked in the top five or so for the first couple of weeks it went up for preorder. Probably why we're seeing more vague responses and hand wringing now.

Well it's pretty obvious that Runic is fucked if T2 doesn't Rock the sales charts, bad preorder or not. Time will tell I guess.

I'm just guessing here, but I would bet Runic made about $5million from Torchlight. This is enough money to pay 30 employees for 2 years of development. I don't think there is anything to worry about though since the game ought to do well.

Probably trying to time it with the next big Diablows3 fiasco to siphon off some more disillusioned blizztards.

Either way, if it's not out by late august, I'll just go play PoE and relegate T2 to "maybe in an indie bundle" territory.
