I'm not taking it nearly as seriously as it reads, but this raft of Codexers who constantly bitch and moan that game X and game Y are too expensive (often as a means of bashing said game, but also often because they're tightwads or live with their parents) does need to float out into the middle of the ocean somewhere.

"U mad" is your best response?

Enjoy being poor and bitter and pretending not to be in order to save face. I'm off to play Just Cause 2, since I've discovered thanks to Saints Row this genre of popamole doesn't totally suck.

Moo?
I...I don't even know what happened. It was the last few seconds of the initial Insurance Fraud mission, and I was plainly well short of getting Gold. So I went for one last hit to place a solid silver when things went awry. I cartwheeled from one section of the town to the other, hitting around fifty cars, banking off buildings and pedestrians, getting flung high enough to overshoot whole overpasses by several hundred feet. All the while my dude was complaining about how bad this hurt and how he hated everyone right now.

End result? 797, 500 for a single sequence that went on 45 seconds after the timer had hit zero. That Gold record was shattered.

I love this fucking game.

It is kinda amusing how they took the broken ragdoll physics of the last game, broke it even further on purpose and called it a feature. That's how it should be done.

Yeah, the timer (for any minigame, not just Insurance Fraud) won't actually hit 0 if you're in the middle of a combo until you finish the combo. In Insurance Fraud, you can careen around Steelport like a pinball for a long time if you get good at it.

Also, the TK and Stomp Mayhem minigames are made trivial if you simply Sprint through people, objects and cars (careful though, cars can set you on fire) instead of actually using Telekinesis or Stomp. In fact, I don't think the hardest Stomp minigame is even winnable without doing this, because it's the only minigame in SR4 that I couldn't reach or come fairly close to gold medaling in either within a few tries, or sometimes on the first try. I played it two dozen times, and my best score was halfway to a silver medal. I suspect a patch broke something—either the value of stuff Stomped or the amount required for each medal. That or they fucked up the design to begin with... or I'm missing some enormous advantage or strategy. I really doubt that though.

Fortunately, Sprinting through everyone takes care of it pretty quick.

I'm into the endgame stretch and putting it off because I actually don't want it to end :( Volition just get fun. No idea how I'll play any mundane silly ground-walking car-driving open world games after this.

I just came to realize that the choices in the beginning of the game are not in fact useless. After all, because of the president's actions you can in fact cure world hunger, as shown near the end of act 1.
