I hear those Nioh games are like retard-level difficult. As in they even make Dark Souls seem easy. Hyperbole or truth?

Hyperbole. I'd say regular enemies are a bit tougher while bosses provide a similar level of difficulty as Souls - most you'll 1-2 shot, a few will take more than that and a couple will take a dozen tries. You have an OP burst mode that allows you to delete enemies when it's up to prevent real roadblocks.

Not really, it's more on less on the same level as Dark Souls. I guess the combat is kind of faster and different than DS so it may take some time to get used to.
