suchy, TSW does have the reputation of being a strongly 'individual campaign' for a MMO. Most of the missions Cow doing are solo (correct me if I'm wrong)
It's pay once to play anyway. Lifetime sub with DLC packs content for future releases.
If I'm not so spoiled for choice I might give it a try.

Yeah, you could probably solo everything I've done thus far. I know the "Dungeons" you definitely couldn't solo, but the rest of the game is well worth a few bucks. Some good voice acting and writing, and some surprisingly cool quests for a MMORPG. Stealth missions are kinda like environmental puzzles, investigation missions are like adventure puzzles that involve using Google (Though not to Google the answers directly because that would be cheating), and then regular missions are uuuusually a bit better than kill 10 shoggoths and bring me 5 flying polyp spleens.
I'm still early on though so it's possible it goes downhill later or requires more extensive grouping. As it is I'm always grouped with at least one buddy anyway since we love going on wild modern fantasy adventures together.

And if you're curious what I mean by "Dungeons", this is the first dungeon, a cargo ship from a Bermuda Triangle-type place packed with nasties. Some mild storyline spoilers follow:
Somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean, wreathed in strange weed and an eldritch fog, lies a warped place. Seafaring cultures for as long as there have been seafaring cultures have run afoul of the strange magic of this navigational dead zone. Their ships have endured as forsaken monuments, their unfortunate crews transformed into the aquatic corpse-horrors known as the Draug. Few who have seen this cursed place ever leave it. Those that do are marked, doomed to be reclaimed by drowning, or by the rare visitations of the pale Draug. And so, when the fishermen of the Lady Margaret escaped as unwitting tomb-robbers, they drew the full attentions of its dark powers. The Draug rode out in pursuit on a pale carrier -- The Polaris, a cargo ship, broken loose from the outermost ring of derelicts and carried across the sea north and west by the roiling, creeping fog bank. In its hold, an ancient lord of the creatures, long since outgrown its human form, exercised its powers to command flesh and fog alike. The ship's passage was inexorable, but unmanned, running aground on a rocky outcrop not far from the coastline of Solomon Island. Spilling from the wreck, the Draug and the fog continued across the waves towards the unsuspecting community of Kingsmouth. What no one knows, however, is that a greater threat has traveled in the wake of the ship. An immense beast, born from the material that re-made the first Draug, and formed in an echo of the terrible thing dreaming beneath the sea: The Ur-Draug, watching over its foul progeny from between dimensions, waiting.

Edit: Also if you're wondering why the player characters don't go insane fighting that, there are some PROBABLE REASONS. *TAPS NOSE CONSPIRATORIALLY*

Nah, I'll pass. I really was hoping for a proper adventure, and this looks like a TPP zombie shooter with story.

So because it was cheap and I wanted to experience firsthand the shitty 2deep4u story so many Codexers seemed to love, I tried Spec Ops: The Line. I was not prepared for the horror I experienced. The horrors of war, and the far worse horrors of generic third person covershooting popamole and murky ugly textures.

Kentucky Fried Civilians? LOOKS LIKE MEAT'S BACK ON THE MENU, BOYS!

HOT MOTHER DAUGHTER BONDING XXX! Guys I think this game is trying to convey some sort of message but it's way too subtle, deep, and totally not heavyhanded at all for me to figure it out.

Oh, the bad guy's in a chair with a gun hanging from his limp arm. This can only mean... I WAS TYLER DURDEN ALL ALONG!

Just when I thought it couldn't get more 2deep4u pretentious, they used the Fight Club twist. LundB cried in a whisper at this game, at this pretension -- he cried out twice, a cry that was no more than a breath: "The horror! The horror!"

Found/stole some flawless dwarven rubies.
Went to see the fence, I was specifically told would buy stuff I steal.

The UI looks so ugly with these, uh, edgy edges at high resolutions... But the viewport is nice. I wonder, is it hard to edit/modify games UI graphic files? I might give the UI some borders or rounded up edges, or atleast some dropshadows to incline it a bit. I'd definitely would want that next time I am playing Arcanum...

This reminds me how shitty Arcanum inventory was.

It's not a problem for mage. What it really lacks is stacking.

The hilarious part is that one of those deaths (My only level two character at the time, no less) was the result of me throwing one of my halflings with a tree at the end of the game in an attempt to prevent a nearly certain touchdown.
