Limassol, Cyprus – TE NET Studio is thrilled to announce Shore of Jord, an isometric, story-driven cRPG inspired by Disco Elysium and classic narrative-heavy adventures like Snatcher.

About the Game
Shore of Jord is a story-driven, open-world cRPG set in an alternate world where Norse sagas and paganism collide with the gritty realism of Scandinavian noir. Players will navigate a post-apocalyptic landscape, deeply influenced by Scandinavian and Eastern European cultures, 1,451 years after Ragnarok.

Set in an alternate version of Europa, dominated by Scandinavian culture, players assume the role of a military officer unraveling webs of political upheaval, dark crimes, and veiled conspiracies—all while striving to piece together their fragmented self following a mysterious night call.

Key Features
  • Comprehensive Character System:
An intricate character system boasting 22 distinct traits, each with unique contradictions and complexities. These traits shape every interaction, making each player's journey deeply personal.
  • Immersive and Distinctive Setting:
A meticulously crafted world blending historical realism, Norse mythology, and fantastical storytelling. Players will explore environments teeming with lore, secrets, and unexpected discoveries.
  • Narrative-Driven Role-Playing:
A story-rich adventure inspired by the golden age of CRPGs. With deep storytelling, branching paths, and meaningful choices, the narrative evolves based on the player’s decisions.
  • Dynamic Time Management:
A dynamic time system adds depth to the player’s choices. As time passes, events unfold, the world evolves, and a sense of urgency heightens every decision. The world continues to live and breathe, adapting to the player’s actions.
Release Date
Shore of Jord is set to launch in 2025.

I didn't even have to watch the video to know exactly what this is. Does anyone actually play these?

People made fun about the Chinese and their Horizon: Zero Dawn copy the last few days. But I honestly feel all these Disco Elysium clones are not much different in that regard. They all seemingly are blatant ripoffs who copy the mood, perspective and systems of DE, even the dialogue boxes are at exactly the same place and look almost the same. Remember when journos hated Ash of Gods because some russians dared to copy Banner Saga? All the Disco-copies are the same, yet somehow media loves them.

We're now squarely in parody territory. Hope CCP cash lets Kurvitz take more risks.

It's something about big names that tips it from being copies to creating a new subgenre.

I've listened here and there to countless Taylor Swift imitators on the country music radio stations supermarkets love to play. They are all the same, aping Swift's early style of singing and songwriting about school and boys looong after she switched from that.

It's the same thing as this. There's something different between copying and following a set trend it seems.

They won't.

Red Info (Kurvitz' studio) is funded by NetEase. I wouldn't expect anything even vaguely critical of authoritarianism in their new game.
NetEase were the guys who pressured Blizzard to ban Blitzchung after saying Free Hong Kong.

About this game Shore of Yord, I didn't see any virtue signaling in their Steam description unlike XXXNightshift (LGBT propaganda in screenshots) or in the game announcement.

Alright so, let me try and get this straight.
  • Would be communists make a game where they're sympathetic (if not outright shilling) towards communism.
  • Their creatives get fucked over by capitalism and they lose the rights to their own game.
  • They then find funding from a "communist" company, in which all their creative freedom is stifled.
This is like one of Cleve's stories.

He dosen't need to talk about the wigger genocide, I just hope his game has new themes and mechanics. Like this one's even repeating the wind motif.

I dunno why people are so offended at the existence of these Definitely Not Torments. Maybe one of them will ft your aesthetic sensibilities through sheer weight of numbers.
