What are your favorite ones? I've only played Slay the Spire and some tabletop games.
To give a contrary opinion, Monster train didn't click with me at all, it has that mobile game looks about it which I cannot shake and it bothers me to no end.
Roguebook gets recommended a lot, it's pretty and shares the world with Faeria (which is another nice card+plus boardgame, though the pve content dries up quickly) but as far as I am concerned it feels overdesigned
and I can't find a character and/or playstyle that I'd like.
It pretty much boils down to what tickles your card autism, but I had good fun with Fights in Tight Spaces (the upcoming Knights in Tight Spaces is worth watching for as well).
Great, positional tactical combat. Really gives you this feeling that you are refining your martial arsenal.
Belatro is also pretty good, but really peculiar. One really needs try it to grok it, but I suppose it's playing poker, but you get to develop your playstyle and tweak a standard 52 card deck, filling it with all sorts of premium cards
and you can even cheat in five aces to play. The obvious weak part is that it still uses the familar cards, but it also mixes up some tarot influences. It's really a love letter to card gaming.
Still, when it comes down to it, it's still poker rules and everything is distilled to numbers going up - a casino like experience which is something you might have looked to get away from in the first place.
There is also a pretty good (and free-ish) implementation of Star Realms on steam. I think it got eclipsed by newer offerings in the genre, but it's still a classic.
