I have this thing when playing SC4 that I don't know how much more population I can squeeze out of a city. I'd be grateful if any codexers posted what they could manage to achieve on what size of map, as a point of reference.

As for me, I can usually churn out +250K on a medium sized map. I'm not using any mods or building plots that would provide a shitload of $$$ jobs, since I think that's just breaking the game.

Also a question: does anyone know how region population works? Is a city influenced by the entire region's pop, or just by it's neighbouring cities?

there is some videos of Mega cities with millions of citizens, built in gridpatterns and whatnot.

look it up.
