A major update just dropped, introducing Settlement Management feature. It's now possible to invite NPCs to our towns to work the fields, mine our wealth, or train to be our trusty companions in the adventures to come. Fags, dykes and the ever despicable she-men should not be allowed to participate in discussions about EA games because this kind of harassment is exactly what you can expect from them. Trannies especially have a habit of infesting online projects, enforcing their dogma, pushing heretics out and then leaving said projects to rot. They've done this in almost every online space that has a large percentage of autistic people (and thus an inherent appeal to troons).

Played a bit of the demo. Seems like the kind of thing that'd be up my alley, but also seems unfinished? Is the demo an older version or something? There's only one school of magic, no archery, and a bunch of other weird aspects.

I read about this on Roguebasin and both the original and the sequel piqued my interest. Mainly because to my knowledge, there's nothing like either of them except for Dwarf Fortress' adventure mode.

I put in 25 hours over the weekend. The game is really good and the dev is very active so it's likely to get even better.

The war update is coming this fall and it appears it's going to really change things up. City states will soon be able to conquer each other including your own settlement.

Love the aging and family and dynasty system. You can legitimately live in the world as a farmer or blacksmith or trader. Skills are capped, so you can only specialize in a few things for each character - I like that. The economy is dynamic right now based on local commodity trading, and it will get even better once wars start causing demand for metal and weapons.

Not sure what he means by "religious oppression" tho, while he's kinda based for fighting alphabet peepol, there's also high chance he's some weird "fighting atheist" schizo

Which is funny as shit to me because the alphabet people keep calling him a Christian. I'd ask him as I actually consider him and his wife friends but... I don't really care.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Soulash 2 dev's being harassed by the usual suspects and he's having exactly none of it. He's making the game HE wants to make, dammit.

Unfortunately, the other subreddits (roguelikes for instance) display the same mob mentality in this case. Anyway, I had a few exchanges with the developer earlier, and he sounded like a great guy (with lots of good advice about game production and such). I hope he will go through without too much damage.
I haven't played Soulash 2 much (and it was earlier), but the first one had a cool lich option. Is it still possible in the second? I'd gladly take immortality over creating a family in the game.

Necromancy hasn't been added yet but it will be. 2's a completely different animal to 1. 2's basically dorf fort adventure mode minus the autism (thank god.)

I'm having a lot of fun with this. As stated, it's like DF adventure mode, but the big difference to me is that the items matter. Instead of having trivial differences between a hammer made of copper, silver, iron or whatever, you get significant stat bonuses from materials. Higher quality equipment takes more materials to make, which means more chances to fit bonuses in. A shitty helm is made of one piece of metal, but a moon crown is made of metal, cloth, leather and a required moon flower, plus 4 slots for magical enhancer items of your choice like feathers or slug eyeballs or whatever, allowing for a ton of bonus stats.

Lots of nice skills too, though getting to the highest levels seems daunting right now. Currently playing an orphan goblin, running around skinning animals and just raising a ton of different skills for stat bonuses. I managed to steal like 200 gold from a village of cat people, seems like pickpocketing is quite effective for that early on at least. At some point I want to build a little village with all the required crafting stations and try start a settlement and build it up with masters so I can have a character bring awesome loot back and have it turned into awesome equipment. Probably should have picked a longer lived race for that, but fuck the elves.

From what I recall, the first game was just a murder romp where you got placed in a massive world and tasked with killing everything alive in it. Seeing how this game is clearly a different beast, what's the objective here? Or is it just an open-ended sandbox?

Is he? I'm half-Jewish. Maybe that's why he and I get along so well.
