After much praise from the foreign fronts, Space Rangers 2: Dominators will finally make it's way to the North American market. That's good, because it means I can buy it now! Anyway, here's a clip of the release:

LANGHORNE, PA – January 10, 2006 – Cinemaware Marquee, an affiliated label of eGames, Inc. (OTCBB:EGAM), today announced that its first title, Space Rangers 2: Rise of the Dominators will be released in North America in March 2006. Space Rangers 2 is already one of the most critically acclaimed games of the year in Europe.

Developed by Russian studio 1C/Elemental Games, Space Rangers 2: Rise of the Dominators continues the trend of Russian developers blazing new trails in videogames. The game is a turn-based RPG encompassing various gameplay genres in a vast interstellar world that can be played in countless ways – explore the galaxy, fight off an evil robotic army, build a trading empire – it is completely up to player. This depth and scope of gameplay ensures that Space Rangers 2: Rise of the Dominators will be one of the most revolutionary titles of the year – the ultimate realization of a truly unique, bold vision to deliver a groundbreaking game on a new scale.

I wonder if it'll come with the first Space Rangers, as I believe the European/Russian release did (unless that was another Russian game called Space Something with a sequel). Incidentally, is SR1 any good?

SR1 is very similar to SR2 minus a few features.
Very nice features, though... but it comes with no copyprotection whatsoever - so you can easily play it on your CD-less palm or something :).
Oh, and has only one boss, not three.

The SR1 UI is a bit hard to take after the great SR2 UI. I booted it up and took a look but didn't play it past a few turns, though.

Hmm, in fact, SR1 has very similar UI to SR2.
A bit less developed, I must admit, though.

Sounds great in theory, trawl the foreign markets, help them get a higher profile release in the North American market, and with Space Rangers 2, they're off to a good start. It sounds similar to what Auran are doing in Australia.

At least the games are going to be epic. I was a little worried until that part.
