No, wizard class had 4 hp per level ... the class hp gain did not even get changed from 2nd ed to 3rd ed (since it would force a complete re-write of weapons and spells damage).

(I have no idea were you got that HP progression)

Wizard got a d4 from levels 1-10, but only 1 hp per level beyond 10th. Fighters (which included paladins and rangers back then) got d10s every level and 3 hp (thanks Mantiis) beyond the 11th level (because it wasn't complicated enough). You're going to tell me that it's a really fucking stupid rule, and I will tell you that yes, it was 2nd Ed. AD&D.
