doubt that the sequel would be about the maker because there are two archdemon remaining before the end of the blight. EA's not going to let the plot end so fast it seems likely that DA will turn into a trilogy with both the remaining archdemon having their own dedicated games and era."

My preference would be something happens that the next two blights occur at the same leading to both arch demons waking up, and causing major havoc not just in Fereldan bu the entirety of Thedas. Due to the super blight, the archdemons this timeactually possess rudemintary intelligence, and not only do they want to destroy the world, they want to destroy the other archdemon as part of some curse. The darkspawn, for the first time ever, have a civil war. L0L Lots of crap can occur.

DA3 can be didicated to discovering the truth of the black city tm.

I'd be shocked if the Maker did not exist. Same with the Old Gods. They're just likely not to be exactly like what the Chantry preaches. Afterall, if the Chantry story is just lies, then there would need to be a different explanation for the darkspawn, blight, and the archdemon (which is supposedly a mix of an old god with the taint of the blight).

Plus, if you were to call Chantrys liars than Morrigan and her mother - who loathe the Chantry btw - are also liars as Morrigan also believes in the Old Gods...

I don't think there is enough information in the game to tell if the Maker and the rest of the Chantry canon is truth or not, but I'd guess it's likely that the Chantry is lying for their own gain, or at least misrepresenting the truth. The world of DA has a lot of betrayal, not least of which was that Andraste herself got betrayed by her own husband. It would fit nicely with the setting if it turns out that the Chantry has some hidden agenda that doesn't match their outward appearance at all.

Another thing that bothers me is that is said somewhere that "dwarves don't have souls", yet they used *something* of the dwarven mind to power golems. My impression is that dwarves mostly can't do magic because they have permanent lyrium poisoning. There's some dwarves that live away from the mines, but they were likely born underground, and immediately got the full dose of lyrium. Maybe dwarven mages are always stillborn? I'm guessing that if a bunch of dwarves lived far away from any lyrium for a while, they'd have mages being born as well.

The focus of a game being a debunking of the Chantry (and by extension Christianity), forcing the faithful to either go through painful self-examination, or go berserk and try to stamp out the heretics exposing the truth? Not gonna happen in a Bioware game.

I don't know, as long as he contributes to hijacking/derailing/decimating yet another shitty DA thread, I'd say he is doing a public service. Maybe someone should ask nomask7 to post his opinions about Vance here.

Dwarves do have a "soul" or whatever because they can in fact go to the fade if pulled to it as seen by the fact that a PC dwarf can go to the fade while doing the circle of magi quest. They just don't usually dream in the fade because of their high resistance toward anything magical, probably from the lyrium poisoning as you say.

They can still craft magical weapons with runes.
