The original game also had terrible boss fights, and a weak final section.

Bullshit, original's "boss" fights had options for non-combat focused characters to bypass them instead of being fought in closed gamey arenas, complete with bullet spoungy bosses and resources like ammo being scattered all about for no reason, they didn't fit a DX game at all.

Regarding final section, the less said the better it is for HR, original's final section while certainly not without flaws blows HR away in terms of levell design, enemy variety, endings etc. zombies and press 4 buttons ending were weak as hell.

Mind you, none of these things really bothered me in HR as boss fights/ending represent a small portion of the game.
