I can't get over how stupid
  • Prices go up as merchants lose interest in keeping a stable marketplace
sounds. If you were profit maximizer the price level should be where marginal costs would match marginal revenue. If anything being greedy would probably mean just trying to gain further monopoly power through coercion, but that's essentially what medieval guilds already did.

When they talk about greed here they mean a psychotic, paranormal lust for material possessions, like Gollum with the one ring. It’s a universal effect. When everyone in an economy hoards wealth, you get a depression and tons of businesses go under.

I'm seeing a lot of people react to this title like it refers to some kind of interracial pornography. Nothing could be further from the truth!

Black Geyser clearly refers to scheisse porn--the developer is based in Austria--specifically explosive diarrhea scheisse porn, which is so popular among Germanic peoples.

Scheisse!

devs give new meaning to :shitposting:

Why is this game looking like a PoE rip-off?
They have been far too formulaic in their campaign - the genre is niche after all, gotta eliminate all forms of "risk". lol...

So they went beyond and just completely traced over PoE.

No one will notice.

It is now confirmed. Balancing takes 11% of games budget! It is only natural that this number should consist of two identical digits. :)

When rotated, they also form an equal sign. Truly, a sign.

Also, this game sounds like it's trying to out-PoE-nostalgia PoE.

Kudos to them, and here's hoping it gets made.

The website lists 6 schools of magic: Natural, Spiritual, Unnatural, Oriental, Summoning, and Ritual. I was wondering if the "Oriental" name is still on, as it does feel a little off (to me anyway) unless there actually is an Eastern region on Isilmerald where those spells do originate. I mean, don't get me wrong, East is as good a cardinal direction as any, but I hardly why it has to be associated with "magical lamps", "djinns" and the like. Care to weigh in?

:trigglypuff: why are modern british people such fucking cucks, and which one of you is it?

She said her "boy friend" is no longer involved with the game: http://www.rpgcodex.net/forums/inde...lly-on-kickstarter.98790/page-19#post-5555260

My boy friend does not work at black Geyser corporation anymore.

Halfway there, undead are coming
Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness launched its campaign 5 days ago and more than 50% of its goal has already been reached. This is awesome. We are extremely grateful for your support!

Also, many thanks to :outrage: Feargus Urquhart :outrage: from Obsidian for his great suggestions before our Kickstarter launch.

We are halfway there...

We have received an incredible number of questions--thank you! Our team is working hard to answer all of them. Those of you who asked us about greed and Plant Item mechanics, we ask your patience. We will soon start processing your messages as well.

Since we got several questions about undead 'mechanics' as well, the next update will be a special one, directly from our writer. It will present Animated Undead and Restless Undead, explaining the differences and their impact on gameplay.

This guys mix "Orient" (which means "East") with "Orientalism" (Western fantasies about Orient). I'm not surprised. In Britain only narrow elite have access to real education.

The Dark Side: Monsters and Undead

In the beginning Yerengal knew only peace and harmony. A tranquility of blissful ignorance eroded over the years as the dark, malevolent gods came down and took physical form.

Often formed from unnatural unions between god and mortal, creatures of a vile, perverted nature were spawned. These monsters consumed the innocent and fed on fear...

Left behind when the gods returned to the heavens, these creatures multiplied and spread across all of Yerengal. Even today, they lurk and thrive in the shadows, where only foolish or brave men tread.

Restless Undead
Restless Undead were one of the first creations of the dark gods in Yerengal. Though many religious texts claim their origins were not deliberate creations, but rather, the unexpected aftermath of godly offense.

Like the name suggests, Restless Undead are mortal souls so wronged in life or so fixated on some aspect of their life, they've come back from the other side. Reanimated corpses or possessed objects, functioning on a purely primal level.

Though not all Restless Undead are hostile, many find the presence of the living offensive and are empowered by their destruction—either by the eating of their flesh, or the absorption of their life-energy. The Restless Undead are indeed extremely dangerous.

Restless Undead are one of the most resilient and challenging opponents

Animated Undead
Where the Restless Undead come back on their own, or are encouraged to return by some dark unnatural phenomenon, Animated Undead are brought back by direct and deliberate arcane command.

These beings are not bound by their previous life in any way and exist only to serve their master. As the dark arts of animating undead have grown extensively throughout the centuries, so have holy magics to oppose such creatures. The methods of countering Animated Undead are easier and more effective than countering Restless Undead.

For all intents and purposes, Animated Undead are weaker than their Restless Undead cousins. But make no mistake, dark mages and priests of Yerengal often summon these undead minions in mass, where they are more than formidable to even the most battle-hardened party.

LAND OF THE FREE & HOME OF THE BRAVE

Never thought the day would come when I say POE has better animations

That's a stock animation for Unity you get for free and it is hardly one of the good ones in that pack. It's the sort of thing you get in a free anim pack and think "Well, I won't be using that one but the others are not too bad."

That monster is one of the free stock monsters available on the asset store and again, it didn't particularly seem usable but I wouldn't complain because it was free.

They should have asked me, since I own half the assets on the Unity store. I could have given them some incredible monsters to use in their demo.
