Bros, a friend of mine has a problem with prepurchasing GW2, he's outside the EU/US zone, and on the list of prices, the price initially shows him at 60 Kwabux, but then when he starts entering info, it switches the price to 55 eurobux. What gives and how to overcome this, any bro with any idea?

I assume he is trying to buy from the official site, if so let him try buying from g2play or some other site that deals only with serials.
Yeah, he's trying there, and he'd prefer staying on the official site if at all possible. Do you have a good experience with g2play and the likes?

I had same problems when I tried to buy TOR on the official site, so I went to g2play, got a serial and had no problems with it.
Well fuck, checked it out and they're out of keys.

Found a http://www.onlinekeystore.com/ but not sure about how legit they are, google suggests legitimacy though, but then again, some paypal faggotry with them...

If you are not sure its better to wait for g2play to get a new batch of serials.

Cool, thanks. Meanwhile if any bros know how to get over the problem on the official site, please chime in.

Maybe your friend could buy it with dollas using a kwan proxy.

Yeah but then he'd get a kwa-regionlocked game and he's not in the kwa so he won't be able to use it, no?

It's not region locked inside the game, I could play on both EU and NA servers on beta.

Nevermind...it actually IS region locked, you can play on any server but you can only connect from the region where your client is from, what bullshit.

From what I understand anyone can play on both EU and NA servers, but you can only log into the game from the region where you acquired it. So, if you buy a NA version on Europe you won't be able to log unless you use a proxy.

Good one.

Also, impressions from last night adjustments:

Looks like servers are way less laggy and far more stable now, and certainly more people fit in. However, the 95% loading bug, fuck that was annoying. Fun workaround, too, have to run game Fullscreen-Windowed.

Serpent in the Staglands Dead State Torment: Tides of Numenera
my impression from last night:
char creation would hang in a black screen for me. for a friend the screen would be black for a few second, then let him create a character, but the character would then be unusable with some map error being thrown when he tried to play it.
had to relog because i couldn't be whispered to or use the guild chat or properly leave/rejoin guild.
friend with a low end computer who could play perfectly fine on the bwe had insufferable fps lag all the time, and when he tried to relog he couldn't be whispered to either.
had many more object/scenery pop-ups than before.
large crowds caused much worse graphics lag than larger crowds did during the bwe for me, although that might have been caused by me playing via mobile connection this time around.

Didn't get to play yesterday 'cause Hoaxmetal dragged me onto Potatoserver :(

Anyway, I'm kinda burnt out on GW2 atm since the beta areas haven't changed all that much since closed. I kinda want to roll an elementalist or mesmer, but I've been thru the charr starting area a billion times already. And the norn/human elemental/necro/mesmer all look dumb. Maybe once the Sylvari start area ticks in I'll pick it up again.

Can any of you in the beta confirm whether PvP is irredeemably fucked? With all the popamole changes it doesn't seem like the intelligent, methodical team based good shit in GvG is remotely possible.

Don't think they fucked up the PvP, quite the contrary, here are my earlier thoughts:

Also, the competitive PvP is gonna benefit a lot from the more dynamic gameplay. Tactics and strategy are still going to be required but there's gonna be a lot more of micromanaging in battle that's gonna make things more interesting. Make sure you put the wall of fire in the right spot so your ranger can shoot fire arrows. Dodge that crippling shot and block the gateway so the enemy warrior can't fall back...

Well:

Tactics and strategy are still going to be required

Meaning, they've taken much customization from the build configuration, true, but there's still a lot of room for improvement in deck building, you can easily make a subpar build in PvP if you don't take complementary skills. Every weapon has a different "role" to it, and so, playing a Guardian with a staff it's very different than playing him with a mace, the choices in your skills (even in your healing skill) depending on your weapon(s) and what is going to be your focus can make or break a build.

That coupled with the more dynamic combat system that makes choices during battle much more relevant.

That sucks, but oh well.

A few questions about this: does this mean that I can change weapons while in battle and get a different set of skills? Like thumping an enemy with my mace attack skills for a while and then retreating to support with my staff?

How many spots of the skill bar correspond to weapon skills? Can these weapon-based skills be switched (for other weapon skills or for other non-weapon skills)?

That coupled with the more dynamic combat system that makes choices during battle much more relevant.

And this is where I draw the retardo line. How are choices during battle much more relevant (you make no comparison to anything so I'll assume you mean GW1)? Was movement and strategic positioning a non-issue in the first? Did your skill choices, timing and usage sort of not matter that much because the combat was less dynamic?

To make it clear, one of the design decisions which killed my interest was when I heard of the dodge mechanic. Lord help me, I've tried to like what I hear about GW2 after spending some 700 hours playing the first. So what the flying fuck is up with this new twitchy, actiony combat? Why isn't dodging still a mechanic derived from your chosen skills, rather than player skill (I know you could dodge stuff by moving in the first too, but only projectiles and AoEs)?

Yes, most professions can switch weapons in combat. The ones that can't have other mechanics. The Elementalist has different weapon skills for each element attunement and the Engineer has some skills called "kits" like flamethrower, grenade satchel, etc that changes their weapon skills.

Weapon skills are the first 5 slots. 6th slot is the healing skill, 7th,8th,9th are the utility skills and the last slot is for the elite skill.

That coupled with the more dynamic combat system that makes choices during battle much more relevant.

Because they wanted combat to be more twitchy and more actiony. You usually can only dodge twice before it needs to regen stamina so it's not like everyone is larping Geralt in-game. For an evasion effect derived from skills, there's Block.
