Uh, no? They have the better console and game pass, you won't even need to buy Halo Infinite to play it on release. If anything, they're trying way too hard to be competitive by giving their games away for peanuts on game pass.

Gamepass is a success, Xbox hardware isn't. There is absolutely no incentive to buy the console because they don't have console exclusives, and every first party game they showed looked like shit, so people are thinking that even their old PC's can run it.

This idea that no one needs Xbox because they'll just play on PC has one huge flaw in it: most people don't play games on PC. At least not AAA ones. Consoles aren't going anywhere.

Their problem is Sony has the more appealing exclusives for the mainstream market.

Even a 2080 for 4k with ray tracing is pretty impressive, assuming they mean 60fps and not 30.

These games are still all built to run on an Xbox One S though. In a year or two those minimum specs will skyrocket (justifiably or not).

They are pricing consoles into extinction.

PC users have tons of venues to buy at lower prices like G2A and key resellers, plus console users insist on their fabled "$2'000 computer" because they don't want to admit that $600 is largely enough to get AAA titles in 1080p/60 or 4K/30. Add the price of online services and consoles have always been a subpar budget solution.

Consoles might be in trouble if people don't take the Plus/Pass bait.
